To see me off as I left for California, Amy and Brandy came to Kansas City for a visit. Brandy came Sunday afternoon, Amy arrived by plane later that evening. Brandy and I made very colorful signs so that she would recognize us in the airport. Last week I discovered that the air conditioning in my car was not working properly. It would only blow hot, humid air even when on the coldest setting. This was unfortunate for two reasons: 1) that I had to deal with no air conditioning for a few days before I could get it to the shop and (typical Kansas summer weather) it is in the 90s pretty ( Read more... )

These entire three days have been pretty good. Even work on Friday seemed to go fast. I went to the gym that afternoon and had a really good workout. When I was leaving, there was a rainbow in the sky. I can't remember the last time I saw a rainbow. I would have taken a picture of it if I had had a camera.
