Permission granted
Passed the tests (both unrestricted (i.e. rifles and shotguns) and restricted (i.e. pistols)) with what appears to be relative ease, although I was shaking visibly during the practical portion. Still an A+ student, too! (Har!)
Provided I pay the $80 and get my swank license, I can go shoot at firing ranges! Or perhaps buy a gun and display it just because I can! Because I'm certainly not going to use my license to hunt, unless maybe it's hunting precious antique cans.
During the written portion of the unrestricted test, Crazy Mitel Guy Sitting Beside Me took out his pad of graph paper and started writing out cube root equations. Why he did this, I don't know, since the only math on the test was "is 16 gauge bigger than 20 gauge?". And the jury's still out on whether or not Crazy Woman Sitting Behind Me is using the word "deer" as a euphemism for "my ex-husband who I had to call the police on five times."
And now you know why people are so hard on gun owners! It's because they're crazy!
