cities you'll never see on screen
School started yesterday. Only guy in class of 21. Still only guy in whole program. Our practicum consists of working with a lead teacher as their assistant, two days a week, then completing one day as the lead. As part of the two days a week, we have to implement eight activity plans of our own creation, as well document what we see and do in the class. There are also about five other assignments to complete outside of the work days.
So, yeah. If all goes well there, and I don’t get pouty and drop my two online classes again, I will graduate in the spring.
The 2 online classes are basics of nutrition and literature composition. I dropped the nutrition class last term because I would have finished with a low C and I did not want to bring my GPA down more. It was already lowered because of my D in American Sign Language. I dropped literature because the teacher was a bitch and I hated her style.
I wanted to take a different composition course, but the only available spaces were in classes taught by the bitch. I like literature, but don’t like being graded on my opinions of it. I don’t think you should grade art.
My attorney says the estate representative should begin disbursing funds from my grandfather’s accounts in mid-September, and that the estate should be settled by beginning of October, as long as the insurance companies stop dilly-dallying. He also said I won’t have to report the inheritance as income and therefore won’t owe tax on it next year. Fingers crossed that is true.
Saw Star Trek: Beyond. It was boring and had no real point. Just sort of trudged along and never really “got going”, you know? I can totally understand how it made less money than Into Darkness.
Jason Bourne was fun. Going to see Kubo at some point. Apparently, it is produced by the same studio that made Coralline. I thought Coralline was interesting and creepy, but I fell asleep near the end. I had no interest in seeing Paranorman, Box Trolls, or Corpse Bride.
I was bored and re-opened my OK Cupid account. Site has changed so much. It’s not fun anymore.
Found out that sendsomething.net is still going, so opened an account there and someone said they remember my screen name from the old postcard site! They are going to mail me a card soon. I shall get some out, too. I like pen pals.
I remember my Japanese language instructor from high school assigned us pen pals. I didn’t join the fun for some reason. Don’t remember why. But I do remember regretting that choice once people in class started talking about all the letters and gifts they had received from japan. I was sad and jealous.
People keep talking about Dragon Con on FB and I am reminded how far away I am from that period in my life. 5 years since I got “fired”. 8 years since I had a lot of fun there. But all those people I met are pretty much gone. Sometimes I miss a few of them. Sometimes I miss the Panel Without a Purpose. I totally miss the consuite. But it’s a fading memory.
Life goes on and I leave people behind, try to make myself believe it is for the best.
It’s the end of summer. The sun is gone by 20:30 now. The humidity is dropping more each day. The temperatures are following suit. Soon, the leaves will start changing and the rains will increase. And then what? What will I do without the sun?
Time travel. I wouldn’t fuck shit up. I just want to go back so I can relive the good moments again.
