It appears, quite sadly, that author Michael Crichton has passed away at age 66I quite enjoyed his novels, and some of the films based on them. Yes, even though he really only had two plots, and the characters were never form than two dimensions deep, and despite the fact that "State of Fear" was a 400-page treatise and sermon against the whole ( Read more... )

Over the past few weeks, I've been re-reading my Sluggy Freelance books (the dead tree versions of the webcomic). I have the first 7 books, and it's good fun to read them in this format rather than try and trawl through the archives online.
