Moments. I have them.

I discovered that the place I usually go rollerblading is connected to a greenway that runs north up to another park. Round trip it would be about 8 miles. Yesterday, I decided to give it a try. The results? Disastrous. There were several really sharp inclines (one of which was above a really busy road) and I completely wore out my rear brake. I even took a spill down a switch-back part. Amazingly, I have only the tiniest scrape on my elbow. All those years of judo have really taught me how to take a fall. I am kind of disappointed that the scrape isn't more dramatic. About a mile of the trail was on board walk, too, which isn't rollerblade friendly. And 8 miles going up and down hills is rough. It would probably be a good running path, but I'm going to avoid it on blades.

We played Ultimate this morning. I was on the good team, and it was four of us against five of them. Some of the catches I made were completely outstanding. And my teammates were hilarious. I had such an amazingly good time. I also felt much more energetic/in shape than I have recently. I was able to do a lot of sprints up and down the field and after the disc, leaving the girl in charge of guarding me to eat my dust.

There's a guy who plays with us who keeps asking me to join the powderpuff team because I have such good hands. I hate to admit it, but if the alumni rugby game weren't that weekend...I think I would, just because he asked me. He's one of the neatest people I've met here... Now, I need to go study microbiology.
