When it comes to school work, I have no sense of self-preservation

Exam week starts today. I have my first exam in microbiology in about 2.5 hours.

So, of course I spent all yesterday studying my brain out. Right?

Ha. No.

I was lead down the path of temptation when I checked my mail to find that my copy of Johannes Cabal: The Fear Institute had arrived two weeks early. (I was really counting for it to come in on the 13th, ie, right after my last exam, so to avoid this potential distraction).

I tried to balance reading it to studying micro. However, I realized that I was at that point in studying that was futile. It might be hubris, but I think I already know enough about the material to at least not fail the exam. So I spent the day reading the EXCELLENT THIRD ENSTALLMENT OF MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME!!!!! (Oh, the squee-ing-ness that I've been keeping internalized might just kill me).

But let it not be said that I lack foresight. To avoid this complication/distraction from affecting my studying for the more difficult subjects (eg, anatomy and biochem...and yes, histology) I pushed through (it wasn't really very hard) and finished the entire novel in one sitting. I haven't done that since...well, ever.

Well, I'm off to a bit more studying before I engage in my perfected technique of "flying by the seat of my pants" at 1pm. Lord help me.
