Gah!

I just realized- Christmas is two months from Wednesday. Yikes! The past three weeks have been a blur. First the surgery and then recovering at home, then trying to get back to my normal routine. I'm just now starting to cross stitch again. I made progress on a piece that will be a gift, but haven't even started any ornaments. Usually at this time of year, I've made one or two. I had to pass on Halloween projects this year. October has been a bust craft wise, but at least I have an excuse. :p I did get my Halloween decorations done, anyway, except for the big blow-up pumpkins for the front yard. Too heavy for me to lift.

Uncle John is visiting this week, so we're going to do some fun stuff while he's here. I'm actually feeling well enough to go on a little adventure. We're doing a day trip tomorrow- Skyline Drive. The leaves are just about at their peak color. We'll pick up apples and apple cider on the way. I can't actually pick apples because of my surgery restrictions, but our favorite places have bushels ready to go.

I wish I could help Mom more with cooking and cleaning. I can load the dishwasher and washing machine, prep some vegetables, and fold clothes, but that's about all. The vacuum cleaner turned out to be too heavy for me. It will be another month before I can lift more than ten pounds. I'm so mad at myself for getting sick. October just sucked.

Mom brought back something wonderful from Williamsburg. I always regretted not getting a lot of Felicity's collection. Mom bought a handmade replica of her red cloak! It is so cute.

I'm still sad that I couldn't go on the trip.

cross stitch, health woes, toys!, halloween, family stuff, christmas
