The Canadian wildfires this past week have sent a terrible amount of smoke southwards. New York City looked apocalyptic. My nephew had to leave work early and stay inside because he had trouble breathing. One of his lungs doesn't work as well as the other (started at birth), so Katie has been worried. The smoke and haze is beginning to go away, but it was nasty in Virginia, too. Dad had to use his emergency inhaler a few times. The smoke gave me breathing problems, too.
The haze in Stafford, Virginia on Thursday:
It was a lot worse than in the photos.
I bought myself an early birthday present. I don't have Kavi yet, but AG just released two costumes from Wicked (Kavi's favorite show)! I tried it on Maritza, who looks good in anything. It's a beautiful, well made outfit. Expensive, but worth it. Glinda's costume is great, too, but it will have to wait.
Defying gravity!
My next crafting project will be to find a TLC AG doll to refurbish and dye green to be my Elphaba. The costume is so amazing that I can't stand the thought of putting it away. And when Kavi is wearing it, I'll put the green girl in a Star Trek costume as an Orion!
The chicks have all hatched. They seem to be doing well.
Rory had another vet visit. She said he's doing pretty well, all things considered. The new meds are obviously doing some good. She said he looks more alert and has very bright eyes. He's being his usual lovey-dovey self. We'll see how he does until his next appointment in August.
