I toured a historic house called Stonehurst in Waltham per an invitation from the Bradford Alumni Association. Information about the site may accessed at this link: http://www.stonehurstwaltham.org. I brought Dad home for a visit today. This was his fifth visit home since being admitted to a nursing home. He inspected the garden and pulled out some weeds. Afterward, he read the WSJ and had a sandwich that I had prepared.

The weather has been seasonably cold this week unlike last week. Temps in the sixties would be better, but I am not ready for summer like weather yet.

It was 80 degrees today and yesterday! Winter has given spring a miss and gone straight into summer. The weekend should be cooler though.

I watched Beginners this evening. Although the movie was well acted, and Christopher Plummer was deserving of his Oscar award, I thought it was mostly boring.

On another note, the weather is snowy for a change.

I watched Midnight in Paris last night and thought it was delightful. The casting and look of the film were superb. Owen Wilson does a very good impression of Woody Allen.

Today is sunny and very cold, but I did a long walk which was refreshing.

It snowed last night and more snow is predicted for tomorrow. Winter has come prematurely. 

Hurricane Irene passed through New England as a tropical storm on Sunday. My neighborhood was fortunate in not being heavily damaged and my home did not lose power. My brother visited us on Friday and Saturday. Mom & Dad were very pleased to see him. Late Friday night he and I enjoyed watching episodes of Alphas & Burn Notice on TV. Yesterday, I was at LG's house for a party she had invited me to. The occasion was the arrival of spring, though the weather did not feel springlike. It was a pleasure to see her and her mother again, and to meet her friends. It was a nice diversion from my boring life. Well, at least I am not in Libya or Japan, so I will not complain too much.
