I read some of the lucid dreaming page in Mark's entry. I've been fully lucid in dreams before, and am usually semi-lucid while I dream. The page still yielded a shocking discovery for me, though. Something I experienced at work several times and wrote off as hallucination was actually a form of lucid dreaming in which one remains conscious as they fall asleep (instead of becoming lucid during a dream). At the time I wondered what all that crazy shit was that preceeded what seemed like a lucid dream and aparently it was just me falling asleep. Crystal clear visions of the lunar horizon followed directly by submersion into the bluest ocean imaginable. Totally mind blowing. And I don't even want to mention the raucus, hysterical laughter I "heard" just before beginning to dream. I will anyway though, just to give you an idea of how crazy an experience it was. Afterwards: thousands of lines of incomprehensible, nigh alien characters scrolling past vertically in blues and teals; then the dream, which wasn't quite as fantastically interesting as the process of getting there was.
Whew ramble. Guess I'll go shake violently for a bit before I drift off to never never land.
