Whelp now that I'm not obliged to entertain my girlfriend I can sit down and write this quickly before running back off to Portrait Class.
Spent the weekend at work like I usually do. Nothing interesting there except Sunday was absolutely dead to the point where I was standing around thinking 'Why are we even open on Easter?' We had a good amount of registers open (I'd say about half or more out of 22) and at any given point there were five cashiers standing at the end of their registers trying to usher in the few customers. And then they came up to me and asked me to sort through returns at the Service Desk which meant spending at least an hour walking aimlessly around the store (which is a super Wal-Mart so it is big) trying to put things back on the shelves.
After work on Sunday I drove the good hour up to Kitsu's for Easter dinner with her and her dad. Then we went over to my parents house to check up on their three cats while they were in PA. Mom left me an Easter basket this year which is unusual cause she generally thinks that I'm too old for candy (which means that I end up stealing from my kid sister), but the real surprise was that underneath the basket was an absolutely beautiful art book that I've been wanting on Alphonse Mucha. If you don't know who Mucha is just google him or Art Neuvau. His poster art is gorgeous and has really transcended time as you can see his influence in much of today's anime artists (the best example that I can think of is the promo art for Kingdom Hearts).
Monday we drove back down to Hamden for my class and our weekly Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) game. Got to kick some major murading Lizard-Folk ass and leveled my Ranger in the process. Much much fun except we had to witness another hissy fit from my co-worker Gregg over a failed reflex roll... the kid can be such a girl sometimes it's not even funny. 'Tis the problem with playing dice-based games.... sometimes you roll sucky... pray to the dice gods and get on with it....*sighs*
Whelp I gotta run...
