Blue jay just lit on the Japanese maple outside my window and distracted my eye. I am supposed to be doing final prep for this weekend's book fair but apparently I can only post under deadline pressure. But just passing thoughts:
* Currently obsessed with three pairs of socks, 4 sweaters and a lace scarf, all on the needles at once. I do love the variety of different size needle projects. Pics posted on Ravelry, another delightful time suck.
* Having finished Charles Todd's 4th inspector Rutledge mystery I have returned to the comfort of The Yellow Fairy Book for bedtime reading. Todd is a bit formulaic, but with a nice sense of period. Better not to read too much at a sitting. Which could also be said of the Yellow Fairy Book.
* Reinstalled Myst IV: Revelation on the laptop with the wildly optimistic hope that I may this time reach the end of the adventure (I cheat...I know where the walkthroughs are online).
*Got to see Indiana Jones IV last night so I can now read spoiler cuts on my flist!
* Have a row of Twickell and Hidcote lavender to plant once we return. The last week's weather madness has confused all growing things here. Saturday before last for the local book fair we had 95 degree temperature. Last Saturday was pouring rain with a high in the mid-fifties. This is the California foothills, people...we don't get rain this late in the season. Good thing I didn't pack away all the woollies that first weekend.
* Made it in for a haircut after months...sort of a grownup version of the pageboy cut in the icon. I feel properly tidy for the fair.
* Treats packed for the Aged P as we will arrive on his doorstep late this afternoon. Poor man, he gets so bored.
*And bless B's heart, the van is nearly all packed, but I need to leap up and figure out the bookcase situation so we can get the rest of the loading done.
Happy weekend y'all...
