RACCOONS
fucking raccoons IN OUR HOUSE!!!11!!1! i went upstairs and there they were, staring at me. and i nearly died of a heart attack. and i ran. and after many calls a nice woman from animal control came and got them out the broken screen they had come through. she went to close another window on the other wall and met their glowly little eyes - they had come around to try another access point. every window in the house is shut now. we're under siege.
we just went up there and surveyed the damage and they were STILL at the front windows trying to get back in. those fuckers.
the damage:
*poop in at least 2 places
*off-colored stains in 2 big places on the carpet
*various other stains all over the carpet including DOWN THE STAIRS which means they tried to come DOWNSTAIRS!!1!
*yarn plucked from the basket and played with? around the room/out the window
*the cat toy moved across the room
*two guest towels pulled from their drying spot on the railing
*the bucket of water we use for the swamp cooler is now a disgusting color...why? WHY?
they were seriously making a racket the whole time they were up there - it sounded like they were just running around like our sweet kitties do sometimes. it's creepy to wonder if they've been up there before.
WE LIVE IN THE CITY!
i really hope i'm able to sleep tonight but it's not looking good so far. i'm so creeped out. i feel like they're going to crawl into my bed and eat my face. we'll see...
