As part of our summer reading program at Huntington, we are holding a book drive so our kids have stuff to read over the summer. If you have any books that are collecting dust on your shelves that you'd be willing to donate, I would appreciate it.
We are opening our summer reading program to everyone in the community, but our students who are currently enrolled "have to" participate. Keep in mind that these are kids who have struggled in school and don't really like to read (or are just beginning to). Giving them books that they will be interested in will really help get the process started. So I'll take any books you have, but remember that we are collecting for students in kindergarten through 12th grade (keep them age appropriate) and they should be somewhat engaging books. If you're just going to give me books that have been too difficult or boring for you to read, my students won't stand a chance.
I appreciate any help and donations you're willing to give. The summer reading program begins June 9th so I need to collect them before then. Thank you in advance.
