At one of the signings, someone asked Laurell about JC and Asher. She said Anita doesn't know exactly what they are doing, and she doesn't want to know

I think Laurell doesn't want to have the males together... at least where we get to see it.
We certainly get large hints that JC and Asher were dying together if nothing more...
Jason... I adore him because he is actually the most human character in the lot... even though hes a werewolf. Jason has become a fairly normal horny young man. He'd take Nathaniel if he got a chance... but Nat is Anita's.
When you bring up the four men in the bed with her... i am tempted to write it. I love piles of people.
Micah is just so blatantly sexual! That's really all you can say about him. He's sex on legs.
I would like to see Laurell make Anita open enough to let them... do as they will.
I agree that these were not gratuitous sex scenes. (Of course, you're preaching to the choir.) Each one advanced the plot. Those that continued to be offended by Anita, Byron and Requiem or Nathaniel and Anita, genuinely do not get the point. I read one comment today that echoed what Jessica Arnet was saying - Anita had taken advantage of a child. Um, no. We have seen Nathaniel as a child because Anita wasn't ready to look at Nathaniel in any other light. But she wanted him from the beginning. Partially because of Raina. Then that changed. But she thought he was broken. That she needed to fix him. Only to discover that he'd been as careful of her as she had been of him. Of not letting her see to much of the adult in him because he grew up so harshly

Of course someone else on the list agreed that ID didn't have gratuitous sex scenes, but thought that CS did. *sigh* There weren't a lot of sex scenes in CS, were there? All I remember off the top of my head is the ménage à trois with Anita/JC/Asher and Anita/Jason and the almost sex scene with Anita/Jean-Claude that got interrupted when Anita's cross flared around Asher. Was there another Anita/JC scene or one with Anita/Micah? Nate was too weak to feed on. If it's just those three, I would argue that they are also all instrumental to advancing the plot. But, yeah, preaching to the choir. *g

You hit all the sex scenes in CS. There weren't that many. I read comments that indicated that they thought the scene, particularly all the description, with Anita and Jason to be gratuitous. I disagree.
Wicked and Truth are very compelling. But I don't know them yet. Requiem feels different. As you said, he's someone we can trust.
I agree about the pre-furry scene. Jason has become a real grown-up. Even though he professes disinterest in taking care of others, Anita and Nathaniel are definitely on his list. Even after they turned halfmen, Jason assures her that they won't eat her. That Jean-Claude wouldn't have trusted them to be with her if he thought that was a possibility.
I am concerned about the Richard/Micah/Anita dynamic. Anita made some promises to Richard that I don't see how she can keep with Micah as her Nimir-Raj. And she definitely proved that Micah and she are a mated pair.

NOW I've got that five person pile in my brain!

Lots of good things to come. I hope.
