Chapter 10

Jin woke up the next morning with a naked Suki tightly wrapped around his arms. Many thought run through his mind as he stared at her angelic face, softly caressing it with the back of his hand. As much as he tried to keep her from getting hurt, he still remembers what Takako has said during their fight.

“Keeping it from her for three months will just hurt her even more...”

Those words echoed through his mind like a broken record. As much as he wants to disagree with that statement, he knows that it’s the right thing to do but he just can’t bring himself to do it.

“Good morning...” Suki mumbled as wake up.

He smiled and gently gave her a kiss, “Good morning.”

“It’s nice to wake up beside you.” she smiled, gently playing with his hair.

“It feels great.” he smiled at her. “With the pretending thing going on, I thought that I’ll be living my life in the next few months like it’s in the movies but with you coming back, you gave me something real.”

“Well, I’m glad I went back home.” Suddenly, she feels that Jin is having a tough time before she went back. “It’s hard, huh?” she can’t help but ask.

Jin wanted to say how heavy he’s been feeling since he went back from his Las Vegas trip, he wants to pour everything out to her but he can’t. “It is. It’s been crazy.” that’s he can say.

“You know about the pretending thing way back?”

“Yes.” he admitted. “It’s been planned for a while.” He looked at her as he noticed that she became silent. She looks like she’s been thinking about something. “What are you thinking about?” he asked.

“Nothing.” she shakes her head. “Let’s grab breakfast.” she suggested as she picked up her clothes from the ground.

Later that week, a Johnny’s gathering was held. A party with the entire Johnny’s is nothing new for everyone. Every once in a while, a gathering like this is held, usually hosted by one of the older sempais and they party without limits. And that one important thing about Johnny’s, no girls allowed.

“How are things going?” Yamapi asked Jin as they took a seat.

“The same.” Jin shrugged as he took a gulp on his beer.

“Tell her about Las Vegas and your chest will be cleared out.” Yamapi poked his chest.

“Yeah, right. It will be cleared out, so is my heart.” Jin answered making Yamapi shared a look with Ryo who just arrived in time to hear what their friend has said.

“Man! I never thought that you love her that much.” Ryo commented.

“I didn’t even know that myself.” Jin admittedly said, his two friends cross their eyebrows. “Before, Suki is just a good friend and she never fails me. We became close so I thought that why don’t I give it a try. I learned to love her but now I think overdid it. I love her too much.” he took another gulp on his half empty bottle. “And I just realized it when she comes back.”

“You’re saying that you’re going to keep Las Vegas a secret from her because...” Ryo tried to analyze where is Jin pointing at.

“Because you don’t want to lose her.” Yamapi ended Ryo’s sentence.

“But don’t you think she deserves to know?” Ryo asked. “I mean, you’re going to announce your engagement with Takako-kun soon.”

“I’m fed up with that topic.” Jin said in annoyance. “Let me do it my way. I don’t need your advice.” he announced as he left the table.

“Seriously, I think that Suki-chan isn’t that special.” Ryo said as soon as Jin is far from them. “I guess not...”

“For him, Suki is different than other girls.” Yamapi said. “Jin loves her but surprisingly, he’s so much into her since she came back.” Yamapi looked into Jin’s direction. “Don’t you think it’s weird? What happened in Vegas, Takako-kun, the contract, Suki-chan...”

“Where are you driving into?” Ryo asked, puzzled.

“I’m not in the position to say this but I think Jin is trying to keep Suki-chan because he’s afraid to shift all his attention to Takako-kun.” Yamapi said.

Ryo chuckled, “Don’t you think you’re thinking too much?”

“It’s just a guess.” Yamapi said, irritated with Ryo who takes his comment lightly.

Since their boyfriends are having a boys night out, Keiko and Suki decided to go out for the night.

“You and Yamapi are doing great. I can see that you’re happy.” Suki told Keiko as they sat down for a late dinner.

“It’s been great.” Keiko gleamed with joy. “You and Jin looks great too.”

Suki looked down with the mention of Jin, since they their conversation that morning, she felt different with what Jin has been acting. She’s positive that he’s hiding something from her.

Keiko noticed the change in Suki’s reaction, she tried to change the topic, “I’ve been invited to this party tonight, you wanna come?”

“What party?” Suki tried to cheer up.

“A launch party. It’ll be fun, you should come.” Keiko smiled, trying to convince Suki to come with her.

“Okay, I guess.” Suki smiled, after a few stressing days, she decided to give time for her to have fun and forget all her worries for a while.

They arrived at the party in Ginza an hour and Suki is surprise to see that it’s a star-studded one. Known celebrities are present in this party.

“You told me that this is a launch party, I didn’t know it’ll be this star-studded.” Suki smiled as she looks around the room.

Keiko laughed, “I know! It’s going to be fun.” she grabbed Suki and moved forward to where the drinks are.

They partied the night away, drinking and dancing. Keiko introduced Suki to her actress friends. She was glad that she decided to go with Keiko, she had fun and she somehow forgot all her worries about Jin. But it didn’t last long, from a far she has spotted a familiar group of girls and seeing one of them makes her jealous. Jealous by the fact that in this room full of people, that girl is known as Akanishi Jin’s girlfriend.

“I’m going to ladies rest room for a while.” she whispered to Keiko.

She reached the ladies room and entered the empty cubicle, she sat on the toilet seat cover and buried her hands in her face. Her suspicion about Jin greatly involves Takako, he’s hiding something about her, something big and Suki feels it.

“I love you, Suki. Remember that. I would do anything to keep you from getting hurt.”

She wanted to believe him, she vowed to trust everything he said but no matter how hard she tried to ignore it, she knows that Jin is hiding something from her. Slowly, tears are streaming down her face, she liked him the first time she laid eyes on him, she did her best to win him and she succeeded. She thought that getting him will make everything okay but she guessed not. She was never this emotional with someone else besides Jin, she has never loved anyone the way she had with him.

“He’s mine. Only mine.” she stated as she wiped the tears on her face. “You went this far, Suki. Be strong and don’t just cry helplessly.” she stood up and went out of the cubicle, to her surprise, she saw Takako standing by the mirror fixing her make-up.

“Suki-kun, you’re here?” Takako asked, surprised to see her in this party.

Suki bowed to greet her, “Keiko-chan brought me.” she answered.

“Ah, Yamapi’s girlfriend?”Takako said.

“Yes.” Suki answered. Takako noticed that Suki isn’t as energetic as she was when they first met, she wasn’t even smiling her warm smile.“Suki-kun, I’m sorry if-”

“Don’t be.” Suki interrupted her. “It’s not your call.” she said maintaining her gaze on her reflection in the mirror.

“I’m his real girlfriend. I don’t need him to shout to the world about me as long as I know that I’m the one he truly loves, I’m fine with it.” Suki firmly said, making Takako’s knees tremble.

“He loves you, Suki-kun. I can see that.” Takako said, although it hurts her.

“I know that.” Suki replied, still a bit cold. “And I love him too. I’m willing to give up everything for him.” Takako was affected by what she said. From the looks of it, Suki knows about their past and she’s hitting on her.

“That’s good to hear.” Takako said, fixing her things. She doesn’t want to lengthen this conversation anymore. “I’ll go ahead.” she putting a forced smile on her face.

Suki nodded and Takako left the ladies room. “That’s right, be strong.” she sighed as she speak to herself in the mirror.

Suki went out and joined Keiko and her friends, she grabbed the bottle of beer and took a gulp. “Girls, let’s dance!” she excitedly as she took Keiko’s hands and pulled her on the dance floor. She was dancing wildly and everyone attention are turning to her. An hour later and a few bottles of beers, Suki is totally drunk and wasted.

“We better go home now.” Keiko grabbed Suki’s hand but she fights back.

“No!” she demanded. “I’m still having fun, Keiko-chan.”

“Look at you, you’re drunk!” Keiko screamed out of frustration.

“You can go, I can just ask for our driver to pick me up and dropped me at my place.” Suki as she swayed her way in the middle of the dance floor.

“I can’t just leave you here.”Keiko cried, following Suki.

“It’s fine. I can manage.” Suki smiled, her eyes are almost gone due to too much dizziness.

“It’s not fine. Jin will kill me if I left you here.” Keiko is now impatient. Suki just smiled and waved her hand as she walks away.

“Grrrr!” Keiko groaned as she made her way outside. She picked up her phone and called Yamapi.

“Keiko-chan.” Yamapi answered.

“ Yamapi. You better get Jin here now. Suki’s getting wild.” Keiko said hurriedly.

“Where are you? I thought you’ll just go shopping?”  Yamapi wondered.

“I’ll explain later, just get here at Ginza and pick us up.” Keiko said.

“Okay. Be there in a few minutes.”

Keiko ended the call and went inside to check on Suki, she’s still there in the middle, drinking while dancing.

“You better stop her.” Keiko was startled by someone’s voice. She turned around to see Takako.

“Uehara-san.” she said as she bowed, “I tried but she’s not listening.” they both focused their gaze on her. “I called Yamapi already. He’s coming over with Jin.” she informed her.

“With Jin?” Takako reiterated.

“Shoot!” Keiko snapped. “I totally forgot about you being here.” she tightly slaps her forehead.

Takako smiled, “It’s fine. I don’t really mind that.” she assured her. What bugs her more than the attention is that she’s going to see Jin, picking up his drunken girlfriend.

“Kei-chan! I thought you went home already?” Suki shouted from behind. “I told you I’ll be fine.” she said as she tripped on her last step.

“No you’re not.” Keiko grabbed her arms. “Suki what’s wrong? If you have a problem just tell me and I’ll listen. You don’t need to do this.”

Suki smirked and looked at Takako, “I don’t have any problem. Right, Takako-kun?” she said in a taunting way.

“You’re drunk, Suki-chan. You better go home now.” Takako said, holding her arms.

“No!” she shrugged Takako’s hands. “Don’t touch me!” she shouted, her face red with anger.

“Suki!” they heard Jin’s voice from behind. “What are you doing?” he hissed, wary of the crowd.

“Oh, look! The famous couple is here. I’m sure everyone’s thrilled to see them!” she said sarcastically, people’s attention is already focused on them.

“Don’t do this, you know the consequences for us.” Jin whispered grabbing her arm.

“I won’t.” she with a smug face. “Enjoy your night with your girlfriend.” she glance at Takako, then hurriedly exit the room, Keiko and Yamapi followed her.

Jin sighed after seeing Suki’s attitude. “I’m sorry.” he told Takako. “She’s drunk, I hope you understand.”

“I understand. But didn’t it occur to you why she’s acting like that?” Takako asked.

“What do you mean?” Jin is clueless.

“She’s suspicious of something, maybe because you give her a reason to be one.” Takako waited for his response but he remained silent. “You’re so scared of losing her but she’s slowly drifting away from you with what you are doing.”
