"Yeah, that sounds like the thing for the day. Pint on tap, and don't hold back on it either," agrees a Scottish voice behind Rose, sounding a little dull.
It was a wonderful couple of days, really, and she saw incredible things (but then when doesn't she?) and the Doctor is still being wonderfully nice about the fine sights.
Until he runs into someone famous and whom you idolize, and who created true beauty and saw it--
And who was so, so horribly tragic. And you thought you'd helped, and you didn't.
"Yeah." She sighs and stares into her own ale for a moment before drinking it. "Why's it always have to be so good here? I don't even like pales, and it still tastes bloody brilliant."
Nothing should be brilliant right now. Bloody Bar.
"Having a bad day?" The question comes from a blond a couple stools down. Her hair is in a high ponytail that's seen the better part of a day and she's dressed in jeans with a hole at the knee and a tank top; she's even got a heavy looking messenger bag on the floor next to her.
Rose takes a long look at her beer before looking over at the young woman. She's gotten a bit better at clocking details very, very quickly, and logs what she sees away.
"You could say that," she says.
After watching the Doctor make out with Madame D'Pompadour? Yeah, that is kind of a shitty day.
It all screams student, quite easily, really. She's spent the better part of her day in Chemistry labs, makes for a dreary and in need of a drink kind of day for her.
"What would you call it?" Curious, as her fingers drum lightly on the counter and a glass of red wine appears in front of her.
The Doctor pokes his head in from the door, spots Rose at the bar, and heads over. "Ah, here you are," he says when he gets closer. "I was wondering where you'd got off to."
It's about that time she orders a basket of chips. Hot, golden and delicious. She pops one in her mouth and turns when he gets within talking distance.
"Came in for a pint and a new earring I think. Broke this one in the fuss," she says, holding up said mangled earring.

But it still had a horrific end, in its way.

Yeah, he really is pretty great about that, until he runs into someone famous and much more fabulous. Then you break an earring and feel like shit.

Rose has resigned herself to screwing up more than she gets it right.
"Because it's in here, and not...where ever you walked in from. And it's a few moments of quiet, rather than wizzing about."
She blushes a little. "If...that's what you mean. I'm Rose. Rose Tyler." She offers a hand.

But she's offering a friendly smile.

"Something not really worth remembering," she answers a little glumly, and pokes at her broken earring.

The chip theft is noted and ignored, as she takes a long drink of beer.
"I didn't think you were following me, or I'd have ordered you some tea."
