"Having a bad day?" The question comes from a blond a couple stools down. Her hair is in a high ponytail that's seen the better part of a day and she's dressed in jeans with a hole at the knee and a tank top; she's even got a heavy looking messenger bag on the floor next to her.

But she's offering a friendly smile.

Rose takes a long look at her beer before looking over at the young woman. She's gotten a bit better at clocking details very, very quickly, and logs what she sees away.

"You could say that," she says.

After watching the Doctor make out with Madame D'Pompadour? Yeah, that is kind of a shitty day.

It all screams student, quite easily, really. She's spent the better part of her day in Chemistry labs, makes for a dreary and in need of a drink kind of day for her.

"What would you call it?" Curious, as her fingers drum lightly on the counter and a glass of red wine appears in front of her.

Rose does not miss those days. Though, one could argue she's learning so much more not being in school.

"Something not really worth remembering," she answers a little glumly, and pokes at her broken earring.

Kitty already doesn't miss them, but becoming a doctor isn't easy. And she figures it will be worth it in the end.

Her nose wrinkles slightly, "That bad?" Her hand gets extended, leaning a little to account for the space between. "I'm Kitty Danville."

Rose turns and reaches the rest of the distance. "Rose Tyler. Pleasure."

She brushes her hair back from her face and smiles. "Coming in for a pint after a day at university?" she asks. The less about what's going on the better.

Her shake is feminine but strong, all those books for science classes give you muscles. "Quite." A pleasure, she means.

She raises her glass of red, "More of a wine drinker, myself. But the equivalent, yea. I've been in labs all day for my classes." Her nose wrinkles even more, "All the reading instructions, noting differences, makes your head spin without a break sometimes."

All the arms swinging back and forth from running for your life gives you nice strong arms too. Her shake matches.

"Ah," she says. "I'm sure that could make you go mad. I finished public and didn't look back."

And she still doesn't.

Kitty smiles, "I want to be a doctor at some point, means lots of schooling in my future."

She doesn't completely like all the schooling, but she'll work through it to get it done because she wants this.

She swallows a bit at the Doctor bit. It has a completely different connotation now. "Or traveling, depending on your...nevermind."

She knows she shouldn't have said that. But she's not on her game.

Kitty's head tilts slightly, "The Doctor's without Borders program?" Her head shakes, "No, that's not for me. I like staying in one place, one hospital."

At least there's a program that includes traveling that Kitty's aware of, so her mind links it to.

That's a good enough cover. "Yeah, I hear it's a great program. I'm just...traveling. Seeing what there is to see."

Which, no, doesn't end in say, Germany.

"It's a great privilege to be part of that program, but if I'm going to travel I want to do it for the traveling." Selfish as that kind of sounds, coming out that way.

"I do want to travel before I settle into a job though. I'd love to see Europe before I have a family."

Hers would end in Italy though. Not some planet far, far away.

Hers will end a parallel universe away. But she really, really is not ready to hear about that.

"Doing anything for the sake of doing it is good," she says. Yes, the logic's flawed, but...in this case, it works.

"Make sure to hit London," she says with a grin. "Best city on the planet, it is."

It'll suck, so it's no real surprise that she wouldn't want to hear about it.

Flawed as her logic may be, she smiles at it. "It is. I'm becoming a doctor so I can help people, but traveling. It seems a little of a waste if you don't do at least some of it for you, for just experiencing the world."

Kitty can't help but laugh softly at that, "London your hometown, I take it?"

And it's something that she'll fight even harder if she knows it's coming.

"It's...an experience," she nods. But she doesn't add the 'experiences aren't limited to the world.'

"London is. Only place to really settle. Right now, though, I'm pretty..." she laughs. "Up in the air about living arrangements."
