Artemis (Crock)//Young Justice//It's a beautiful night to patrol

Dec 27, 2011 15:37

It's dark out, it always is it seems, and wisps of steam make visibility even worse.

All in all, it's an excellent night for lurking on rooftops.

Also an excellent night for waiting for sources in dark, sketchy alleyways to ask questions about Intergang in what is clearly not a death-trap waiting to happen to the incautious.

"Love the trench coat," says a voice from the fire escape, "A real classic."

Cue the whirl-around-with-bravado-covering-startlement. After a moment, though, Lois smirks slightly.

"Good to know some kids these days still have taste," she drawls. She nods at the quiver. "Green, huh?"

So maybe this Lois once dated Green Arrow. And maybe he's married to her cousin now. She's curious.

"What can I say? It's the new black."

It is a great night for rooftop lurking. There's a fella in a leather jacket with binoculars gazing out at the street.

That's not the normal figure in a jacket for Artemis.

Time to see about slipping closer and her own set of binoculars.

He's got white blond hair and is ... wearing sunglasses at night. He doesn't seem to notice her as he talks into headset. He's got a gun on him, in a shoulder holster, visible when he shifts his jacket a little. The guy seems to be relaxed and not expecting any trouble beyond the fact that he's spying out at a warehouse.

Headset. Gun. Sunglasses.

Maybe a Fed. Maybe something lower on the food chain.

Get a little closer first, then, "This where the rave is tonight?"

Rooftops can get crowded.

Though tonight the Question is intent on his own prey. Jewel thieves he followed here from Hub City just for the heck of it. At the moment, he sees their van but not them.

It's like grand central freakin' rooftop tonight actually.

Faceless dude isn't part of the normal nightlife up here either.

Time for a closer look.

The man without a face isn't looking behind him. But he knows someone is close. "If you're looking for trouble, I assure I know at least two forms of martial arts." It's a rare talents to sound at once like you mean business and like you really don't care.

Rare but more common in the caped and cowled community as it were.

"Either one of them involve explaining what you're up to?"

Martial arts is good to have, really, but if it comes to a fight Artemis is going to be doing things at a distance. That's why she's stopped out of easy lunging distance.

Roof tops tend to be where people are who maybe shouldn't be and so Batwoman sits on a ledge beneath and watches for something that's bound to happen.

Gravel crunches under foot at Artemis gets up to speed to jump between buildings and continue the patrol.

Look, she's not a Robin, or a Bat. All the ninja training has been on the stab-when-the-aren't-looking side of things.

Well there's something...

She pulls herself up to track Artemis' path and take some better bearings. Is she up to no good or another cape?

Unless the crooks are trying to hide in Green Arrow tribute outfits lately, probably a cape.

Artemis pauses for a moment to check the street layout. New part of town to see from this angle and it's time to cement what the map means.
