Jaejoong gets involved in an accident when he’s one day away from his nineteenth birthday.
He doesn’t die though, but fate is even crueler because the accident renders him impaired. Its not anything physical nor emotional though, but then again, he’s stuck in the mindset of a five year old kid and that’s probably worse than any other physical injury out there, but better injured than dead, right?
Jaejoong’s an only child. His parents are already dead for a couple of years now; his mother was a cancer victim while his father was stabbed to death by his co-worker. It’s a good thing that Yunho, his boyfriend of two years, stays with him and takes care of him.
--
Jaejoong is twenty-one now with no clear sign of recovery.
Jaejoong makes improvement nonetheless, but not enough to assure Yunho and the others that he will recover. He recognizes Yunho now, and Yunho’s younger brother, Changmin, and that friendly train operator, Yoochun, and that bubbly guy who owns the local restaurant in front of the train station, Junsu. Jaejoong knows how to bathe himself properly, change clothes, feed himself, and talk in incoherent sentences like ‘me hungry’ or ‘yunho stinky no touch’ and the like but its enough to keep Yunho hoping.
In the years, Yunho and Jaejoong developed a habit. Yunho goes to work at eight o’clock and Jaejoong walks him to the train station. Yunho will try to talk to Jaejoong, telling him to go back home and wait for him, but to no avail. Jaejoong would wait for Yunho’s return at around five o’clock in the afternoon at the nearby bench. Before they go home, Yunho will take Jaejoong to Junsu’s restaurant and eat dinner there.
( “Jaejoong-ah, go home now. Don’t wait for me, please? You might freeze out here.”
“Joongie stay.”
“Jaejoong-ah, don’t be stubborn, please? Do it for Yunho?”
“Joongie stay~”
“Jaejoong…”
“Joongie wait for Yunnie… forever!” )
--
Yunho dies in an accident one day.
No one expected it to happen.
It wasn’t exactly incidental. He just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. There was a chase between a drug lord and the police. Needless to say, the police mistook Yunho as the criminal and shot him straight on the head.
Changmin tries to talk to Jaejoong, but the latter wouldn’t listen, or rather, he couldn’t understand.
So everyday, Jaejoong would wait for Yunho in front of the train station like he used to… and everyday, at six o’clock in the evening, Changmin would come fetch Jaejoong and pull him back home.
Who knew that the Shim Changmin who was famous for his menacing glare, witty comebacks and poison tongue could be so patient when it comes to Jaejoong?
( “Jaejoong-hyung, let’s go home?”
“Noooo. Joongie wait Yunnie!”
“…you don’t have to wait anymore, Jaejoong-hyung.”
“No. Joongie promised. Joongie wait.”
“You’ll get cold out here. Let’s go home, please, hyung? Yunho-hyung will be sad if you’re going to get sick.”
“Joongie promised Yunnie. Joongie need to wait.”)
--
Jaejoong was left waiting for three more years - waiting for Yunho’s arrival, waiting for Yunho to come fetch him and bring him home, and to Jaejoong, Yunho is his home.
One day, when everybody least expected it, Yunho came to bring Jaejoong home.
( It was a snowy day, just like the day Yunho left and never came back.
Seven o’clock says the clock above Jaejoong and time to go home, according to Changmin.
It happened all to fast.
The last thing Jaejoong remembers is crossing the street and hearing a loud, honking noise.
Jaejoong looks up and sees a familiar brown orbs staring right down on him.
“Yunnie…?”
“Yes, Joongie. Its me.”
“Yunnie, I missed you.”
“I missed you too, Joongie. Its time to go home now, baby.” )
A/N: I apologize for the lack of yunjae fic updates and also for the delay of update in the homin archangel!verse. I apologize for this. This was written within thirty minutes, thus, the bad quality. Sorry!
I purposely left out the Character death warning because its like giving away the ending of the story. I hope you understand~
And this was heavily inspired by Hachiko. (I forgot the whole title of the movie, sorry!)
