For once, the City, while still reducing me to my childhood again, wasn't so cruel about it as it sometimes is. I'll call it a Christmas gift and be grateful for it. I've seen that curse before, more than once, and, more than once, the day has not ended well. It does make one wonder about the childhoods of others in the City. Though, this time ( Read more... )

Thank you. I am certain I shall, though I don't expect to get much use out of it.

Likewise, I hope you enjoy the bath salts and oils I sent to you.

Hmmmmm.

I suppose even your sort of person must love Christmas, mustn't he.

And what is that supposed to mean exactly?

That Christmas is one of the best holidays ever, of course.

It is, even if it's bittersweet in this place.

We push the grand dinner to New Years. Would have that make much of a difference in a place like this?

Your musical number was still marvelous, Earl. Your lady friend was unsettled when I told her about your departure, all seems better upon your return.

And the curse day... I better not speak about it in detail. Without those blankets everyone brought me I would have caught a cold or something worse.

No, not such a difference. A New Year's dinner would be just as good as a Christmas dinner.

Thank you, Princess. I'm not surprised it worried her. She was rather angry with me for having left, actually.

You refused to leave, so what else could we do but provide you with what warmth we could? Still, I am glad you're all right after all of that.

She was? Why for? You didn't choose to leave without a farewell or notice.

I was very stubborn and didn't trust others easily when I was five years old. I learned to socialize when I was admitted in the Academy. Thank you for your patience.

It would have been more polite if I'd said managed to say my farewells somehow.

I was hardly a patient child either. I think I would have thrown the blankets on you if you'd refused them.
