Okay, so I've got The Book. Picked it up this evening in a drizzly, muggy Cerritos Ralphs at 40% off. That's how big this book is - they're setting it out on front tables in grocery stores!
Only cracked it open wide enough to see how many pages long it is, but that's going to change in a minute. You know what I'd like? I'd like for Peeves the Poltergeist to play a HUGE role and for all his actions in previous books to have such an enormous impact on the story that the film makers will be totally screwed. I know it won't happen, but wouldn't that be hilarious?!
Just got back from a long weekend. Root canals yesterday, then down to my Aunt and Uncle's house for a pool party and sleep-over. That's right, a sleep over! And this time, I read the kids a bedtime story. After a quiet chat around the fire-pit, Auntie and Uncle tucked me in. That was so sweet!
Woke up before 8 am this morning. Even more amazing than that was the fact that I wasn't able to go back to sleep. So, after an hour of trying to, I got up and went for a morning swim with the girls. It felt really good.
What didn't feel so good was getting sun screen in my eyes. So, I was dealing with that for a bit of the morning and some of the afternoon.
Uncle made waffles. Yum! I started getting downright nostalgic.
nevergabe, I wish you could have been there! I did some more swimming and sun bathing then
toriem swung by. We had lunch, I dealt with my still-sunscreened eyes, and we took pictures of
the afghan I made for my cousin's wedding nearly a year ago on my parent's new camera. I'll be posting them later.
toriem and I took off for a little book shopping, a little food, and a little book-and-egg getting. (Remember, I said it was at a grocery store? Yeah, well, that wasn't the only thing we were there to pick up.) It was pretty muggy out and it even started drizzling. Seriously, it's like we're having East Coast hurricane weather or something.
Then I swung by my Aunt's and Uncle's house one last time to say bye, thank them again for everything and use the bathroom before being sent off with fresh-picked tomatoes and some shirts Auntie thought Dad and I might like.
Now, I'm showered and ready for bed. Eyes still sting a teensy bit, but I think I'm going to read the first chapter of The Book. MUST keep it to to ONE chapter. ONE. Chapter.
