I went to an interview at Jo-Ann's today thinking I could nail it and everything will be great, but really I'm walking into another shitty retail job that I'm going to hate immediately, except this time I'm going to hate creative stuff. That really, really bothers me.

They'd require me to take my piercing out and have normal hair because old ladies shop there, and they "don't like it". Pants only dress code. Store policies change so often that they have a dedicated iPad that updates itself and needs to be signed off by every employee, every week. The online reviews from people who work for the company, are awful.

I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN
I honestly don't know what I was expecting.

I also don't know how much longer I have at the pet place. My job now hinges on my ability to force/wheedle people into giving me personal information (email addresses) and browbeat them into taking our online surveys and giving us good scores. To the point now that I've been threatened (again) with not being scheduled.
"We're to the point now where we aren't asking." they said.

It's not like they've made their policies a big secret; they pound it into your skull during training and repeat it at every huddle meeting. They think I "struggle" with it.

Waiting for an official reprimand.

In lighter news, the cat's health improved MASSIVELY. He still pees on the floor if the litter is "too dirty" for him and no one's watching, but if I stay on top of it, the hallway stays dry. He's stopped leaking pee. His bladder is much less swollen. His spine doesn't feel as knobby. He PLAYED, chasing my hands under the blankets, for the first time in months.

work woes, complainy, cats, hopelessness, ffffffuuu, tiyord, whinging, whiny pissbaby, shut up amanda no one cares, cry moar
