I blame this entry on boredom.
Because I'm so incredibly lady-like and only discuss lady-like things, I give you my second noticeable side effect of birth control: heavy. ass. periods. Like, yeesh ... I can't imagine it's healthy to lose that amount of blood but, on the plus side, my period literally started right up and I didn't have to go through my usual three days of pre-period spotting. (Though I suppose that doesn't really count since I got the added bonus of random spotting two weeks prior to starting my period and ruined a good pair of cute undies. Lame.) I used a light tampon, like I do at the beginning of every period, and WORST IDEA EVER. Icky. :-(
Tonight Ben had dinner with Shaun and I and I made brown sugar and mustard glazed ham with mashed potatoes. It was rather awesome. I'm kind of impressed with myself ... not that I really should be, it was ridiculously easy. But seriously. I MADE mashed potatoes ... not from a box! Wow! SHAMwow! Okay, so anyway, because Ben's here I've, once again, been relegated to the living room. I don't mind giving up my computer for a few hours but it's been like six. Mama's bored.
Last night we went over to Donna's and groomed Mango. I asked her to cut him a bit short because a.) his hair grows back too damn fast and b.) it's summer and he could use a lighter coat. He looks ridiculous ... adorable, of course, and she did a great job, but he looks ridiculous. Like, he was a fluff ball before but now he looks like a freaking cotton ball. He's just ... POOF. I was going to try and get some pictures of the cuteness but Ben forgot to bring my camera back. Oh, well.
Lastly, my dad called me today to tell me I am officially part of his football draft. :-D He apparently called Phil and was like, "You're out, my daughter's in." Haha. I love my dad. And I, Mallory Hillstrom, do hereby promise to pick players based on their talent and skill and not because they are pretty, pretty men. I would like to point out, however, that Tony Romo is a genuienly good player and his being pretty is really just a nice little bonus. Though, let's not fool ourselves, if I get first pick PEYTON MANNING IS MINE (and pretty, too!). Screw Brady. What can he do? That's right, he can suck it.
