Only a Garbo can play the Garbage Can

Garbo gave an interview which provided this gem:

21. What made you choose 5 as your Road Dogs jersey number?

Garbo: My team captain, Nick Jonas, gave me the number 5. I have no idea why nor do I have any significance with that number.

Which proves that Nick assigned the numbers to some members of the team.

Which I choose to believe proves that Nick assigned Joe the number 1.

Which I choose to mean "OMG they're sooooooooo in love!"

My issues with Garbo are not so much issues as.... hm. Well.

I don't deny that he's a very, very attractive man:
[uh, insert picture of Garbo being attractive. Probably wearing glasses.]

Nor do I deny that he makes me laugh:
30. What is your ideal pizza?

Garbo: Funny, confident, introspective, encouraging, smart, etc. These are all qualities I look for in pizza

Nor do I deny that things like this make me want to slash him with Joe:
2. If you could be any animal which one would you choose?

Garbo: Joe once told me I'd make a good flying squirrel. I agree.

7. What was the best prank you've ever played on Jonas, the band, or crew? Or all three?

Garbo: I convinced Joe that Sting was texting him back in 2007. I changed my name in his phone contacts to "Sting." I had him going for hours, while I was texting him from 2 feet away. We told him that Sting asked a mutual friend to put his number in Joe's phone. I eventually called him and did my best Sting voice impersonation, then he pretty much figured it out. classic.

25. Would you say you are a protective older brother?

Garbo: I would consider myself more of a "same age brother" rather than an older brother if you will. We all grew up together. I was 18 when I first met them, but I mean we grew up in the business and had many ups and downs together. We learned a lot in a short amount of time. I think I balance all of them out in different ways, as opposed to giving advice like I'm some sort of authority. But i absolutely care about their well-being, not only as the "Jonas Brothers - Superstars", but as the human beings off the stage as well, if not more so.

But something about this statement is such a massive, massive mood killer:
36. I have noticed that you are a religious and faithful guy, which I admire. How do you balance your faith life with your work life?

Garbo: It all goes hand in hand. I make Jesus a part of everything I do, including work. I pray throughout the day - even if I'm doing something I don't necessarily want to be doing; I know I'm in that specific place at that time for a reason and I try to honor God with my actions. I view "religion" as a set of rules and ceremonial / legalistic-type things that just end up feeling empty. Whereas I have a personal relationship with Jesus - He's my best friend and there is daily communication. He wants to be your best friend too!

It's not that he has faith, I mean obviously the JoBros have a very strong faith, but it just... whereas I can dirty up Nick and Joe somehow Garbo being so EARNEST and OPEN about his faith just makes it impossible for me to dirty him up. Like if I wrote a Garbo/Joe fic it would be very:

Garbo and Joe held hands sometimes. The End.

See? Mood killer. :(

only a garbo can play the garbage can, have you pondered joe/____?, wanna hear me talk about the jonas bros?
