Only a Garbo can play the Garbage Can

Garbo gave an interview which provided this gem:

21. What made you choose 5 as your Road Dogs jersey number?

Garbo: My team captain, Nick Jonas, gave me the number 5. I have no idea why nor do I have any significance with that number.Which proves that Nick assigned the numbers to some members of the team ( Read more... )

I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN. Garbo, stop being earnest for FIVE MINUTES.

He is attractive and THERE WERE SO MANY GOOD THINGS COMING OUT OF THAT INTERVIEW. Oh, Garbo. He also once said that the Jonas Brothers were space aliens who came to Earth on UFO's shaped like penguins. Instant winner ;)

He's hysterical! I mean really legitimately funny. I'm so charmed by his sense of humor. But... man for some reason I have a major hang up about him doing sexy things.

Okay, first, your icon is amazing. And second, I completely agree with your problem about slashing Garbo with the boys. He is just so earnest! I mean, it would be pretty hot, and yet I can't imagine a scenario in a fic where I could actually buy into it. There would have to be a pretty long buildup of realizing ~feelings and overcoming hangups, etc etc (actually that would be kind of cool to read -- someone get on that!). Now, Garbo/Hoffman? Thaaat I could be into.

(My icon IS amazing. The joke about Joe's milk bender was priceless! But I can't remember who made it. I saved it and was going to upload it right away when I still had the memory fresh in my mind, but then I forgot. Maybe she'll message me and school me and I can credit her.)

hahaha, I think you hit on it right there. Like. Hoffman would be corrupting and seducing (in a manner of speaking) earnest, sweet, well-meaning Garbo. But like. Joe Jonas, as I have conceived him, would not talk his way into Garbo's pants like Hoffman would. They would LOOK amazing together, though.

There would have to be a pretty long buildup of realizing ~feelings and overcoming hangups, etc etc (actually that would be kind of cool to read -- someone get on that!)

Exactly. There would have be addressing of religious issues, fretting, recanting, secret kisses/longing and then acceptance. Which would be a GREAT fic, but not one I could write without turning purple.

Garbo is awesome, but I see what you mean with the earnestness. LOL.

Garbo is awesome! He's attractive, and funny, and very, very nice. But just ::pouts:: I can't get him to be slashy in my mind.

But yeah, any 20-something guy who says "[Jesus] wants to be your best friend too!" makes me pause. Just a little. :-/ Because... yeah, there is no other word for that than like, sweet and earnest, haha.

Right? It just puts him in a category that I don't usually find sexy. Which is odd because so much about him is so sexy! I guess I have hang ups!

I'm always happy to be reminded of Hoffman. I love knowing that not EVERYONE those boys talk to share their same ideas. Perspective is a GREAT thing.

1) ::laughs:: It's like how does one politely say, "I appreciate and respect your faith but would prefer never to hear about it?"

2) The Buddy Christ! Oh man I wonder if those boys have seen that movie...
