ugh
Well, I've felt like crap the last couple of days, and yesterday, I'd finally started to feel better- even got some writing done- and then bam, emergency to make everything go down the drain again...
I took the dogs outside for their dinner-time bathroom break last night and Zoey, the chihuahua, started squeaking and whining for no immediately apparent reason, and was digging at the side of her head. I figured it was just her ear bothering her, so I didn't think much of it. I took her inside, and noticed she wasn't moving around much, and in general looked like she was trying to shrink out of existence, so I took her to my mom and told her she was acting weird... Which is when we noticed that her eye was swollen. Not only was the eye swollen, but it was blood red. I don't mean bloodshot, I mean we couldn't see the white, her iris, or pupil. My mom calls the vet, and then the stress really started because he told her to get Zoey in right now...
Apparently she has a bleed into her eye. We're not sure what caused it. Yesterday morning, she did dart under Odin's (great dane) feet, and he tripped over her... She went tumbling, but we didn't take much note of it because she's done that before, and she didn't squall or anything, just hopped back up and went back to playing with Josie. Vet says it's possible that's what caused it, if she got knocked in the head when Odin tripped over her, and no signs appeared til later. Anyway, we have to keep a close eye on her and make sure she doesn't start bleeding from anywhere, and she has some medication for the eye... Vet says it's a probable chance that she'll lose some, if not all of her vision in that eye, and if there's something else causing the bleed, and not just trauma, she may need to have the eye removed...
So yeah, yesterday evening was fun.
On a happier note, got to see an RL family friend who's been too busy to stop by. He's big into making... stuff... He makes everything from miniatures to costumes, so I got to show of the stuff I made everyone for Christmas. His reaction was pretty much: "I'm seriously proud of you... My goddaughter has finally made something worthwhile; I can die happy now!"
Random: oi, the sign-ups for the SPNj2 BigBang start today, and I'm not done with RC&CHS... I suppose I can take a few more days to finish it before I start back up on Awakened for the BB. I wish I hadn't started feeling sick, I could have had it done already...
