Big Bang, and I read way too fast

Jan 10, 2011 20:58

I signed up for the SPNj2 Big Bang earlier. Luckily this time I already have an outline and thus won't suddenly realize I need one two months in, and then have to rush to get everything written. No doubt I will still have to rush to get everything written, but whatever.

Still going to finish up RC&CHS before I get to work on Awakened, if I can. Hopefully it won't take more than a week or so. Anyone interested in beta'ing when I get it done? No knowledge of the REverse is required, don't worry. Just someone who can put up with my possible comma abuse (I've cut back since Empire. Trust me, it was hell editing them out; I learned my lesson) and occasional grammar!fail.

I ordered a book last week; The Looking Glass Wars. It got in today. I started reading late this afternoon. I finished it a few minutes ago. And now I don't have the sequel, because the place I ordered it from only had Looking Glass Wars, and ArchEnemy, rather than Seeing Redd. So now I have to wait for my mom to order Seeing Redd from Amazon or something, so I can go ahead and order ArchEnemy.

I've run into this problem before... I get a book, I know it has sequels that I plan to get in the somewhat near future, so I tell myself I'll read slowly. It never happens; I usually finish a book within a day. This was never a problem when I was in school and had my reading assignments for the week finished by Monday afternoon, but when I need something to hold me over til the next book comes in? Yeah, it kinda sucks XD And no, I can't just put a book down. I have a very weak will when it comes to reading, and I will inevitably give in to the little voice that says "just one more chapter before you stop" every time. Which leads to one more chapter, which leads to on more, which leads to "God damn it, now I don't have anything to read!"

books!, holy shit, big bang, omg wtf lol, life what life?, holy fuck universe i need to sleep!, writing holds me hostage
