I want to overhaul my computer.
The sad thing is, I want to do it so I can buy The Sims 2 Seasons expansion pack.
Yeah, I've fully accepted my loser-dom here, but sometimes I even surprise myself. At this point, I'm gearing up to spend in excess of 250 bucks (not counting the cost of the expansion pack and installing the new hardware) for ONE game.
I just want computer can run it and my plethora of downloads without dropping a lung. I tend to be a bit on the impulsive side, so I've barred myself from buying anything just yet until I weigh the pros and cons.
I want 1.5 gigs of RAM (I've already got 1 gig, but I've seen TS2 eat up as much as 500 megs at times) and a new graphics card. My current card doesn't support pixel smoothing and anti-aliasing. Nor can I see the "special moments animations". First kisses, alien abductions, all that stuff, my computer just freezes and I can't see any of it.
The biggest issue is finding a graphics card that can support my monstrous resolution settings (1920x1600). Yes, a 24" monitor is good on paper, but it's a bitch to find a cheap graphics card that can go that high.
I'm also running on about 13 gigs of hard drive space =[ But a new hard drive will have to come another day.
