Hello! How was everyone's days? I'm not going to pretend I really have anything to talk about besides the movie I saw today and what I'm doing tomorrow. In brief, today I saw Disgrace, which i won't review because to my surprise it was a joint Australian/South African production and apparently old, so I assume it didn't get a good release beyond the film festivals. It was really good though. John Malkovich is an amazing actor but really creepy, and kind of looks like a monkey. From the crowd I discovered he is mostly lusted after by old ladies. After that I rocked up to Borders and got two books (Lolita for me and Breakfast At Tiffany's for a friend), some badges and UK Glamour and then I came home. Tomorrow I am going with my grandparents to the early morning market. I am turning into one of those aforementioned old ladies apparently. Oh well, it's holidays. I'm sure I'll be vaguely more interesting when I go back to uni and catch swine flu!

IT'S LIKE CHOOSING MY FAVOURITE CHILD. Except not really. But really, so I'm not choosing cause this is very Sophie's Choice of you oh invisible meme author. REALLY.
Actually I do have some fandom stuff to say: We are now all prepped to see HBP next Tuesday (when the movies are cheap). The thing with me and HP is that the books bored me - I gave up midway through Goblet of Fire - but I have a strong opinions on each movie. Here is what my movie re-watching has found:
-Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely the best movie with OOTP not far behind
-the actors appear to dramatically age five years between the second and third movies
-all three of the kids were sucky actors until the third (who can blame them, they were like 10)
-despite how much they all improve, Gary Oldman outacts everyone in every scene he's in
-Chamber of Secrets is totally Harry Potter and the Brokeback Goblet. There is seriously an entire Ron/Harry relationship that plays out during that film even with the Hermione drama and it is GLORIOUS lol. (And possibly the only good part of that movie. Oh yeah, I went there).
We've also decided that in the context of the movies there has so far been no precedent for Harry/Ginny. The trailer for HBP makes it seem like it'll be shoved down our throats a bit when the rest of the movies seem to contend she goes better with Neville. Is that a weird thing to think, Ginny/Neville? They went to the ball together and he seems protective of her in OOTP. And I still kind of ship Harry/Hermione too. Oh, who am I kidding, I still ship Harry/Ron. That shit is so on during Goblet of Fire.
Speaking of, I may possibly be going to the party thing Borders is throwing for the release of the 6th movie on Thursday. See, I kind of have a life! If I go I shall return with pictures of Heather dressed as Hermione. I hope there's pudding. There probably won't be pudding, but maybe the salespeople will dress up as Dumbledores again. That would be fun.
Also I finally saw the HIMYM S4 finale yesterday. That was a bit of a letdown. Last season has to be the last, because you can't really get much closer to meeting the mother than having her sitting in a classroom in front of Ted. I kind of hope it does end so we get five seasons of concentrated awesome as opposed to it being dragged out.
K y'all can ignore this post if you want because I have to go to bed. I am boring. But on the weekend I'm going to do one of those cracktastic play-by-plays of the Glee pilot! That should be fun. And I don't even like Journey. Whee.
