I'M BACK!!!

We built 2 houses! 
we went on a safari!
we saw Victoria Falls!
we all got sick!
we all had fun!

I'm at Heathrow right now, which you can basically take as a sign that the first flight went great. There's another like, 8 hours until the flight to Lusaka, so I have tons of time to burn. Plus I'm paying for internet access like crazy right now, so that's all I have time for.

All my bags are packed and ready to go, so this is just about the last thing I need to do. Unfortunately I still have to go to school tomorrow, and since I have to be at the airport by 6:00pm, I doubt I'll have time to get on the computer tomorrow. This is around the time when the nervousness starts to set in. I've been getting really eerie feelings about planes and stuff, but that's normal for me. Doesn't make them any less creepy though.

My mom took me out to get some of the stuff I need. I'm in quite a bit of sticker shock and my dad is pissed about how much money we spent, but it's good quality stuff.

Got all my malaria pills today, along with some nausea pills called Achelkwthwlketwlkentrcyan or something like that. Big fat price tag of $170 whoooo.

And I got tickets to go see Flogging Molly on Family day. Whoooo (for real this time).

Had the first building meeting today. Woke up far too early for a Saturday and had to go to school of all places.  But there's a really great group of people going. They're all very nice and friendly and stuff.

So we spent a long time talking about vaccinations and boots and glasses and gloves before actually getting to work. We had to carry fifty ( Read more... )

I went to go get the vaccination consultation today. I need to get shots for:

-Rabies
-Typhoid/dyphteria
-Hepatitis A
-Influenza
-And a bunch of others that I don't remember at the moment.

I got three of them today. I don't remember which ones, but my upper arms hurt like hell right now.  They made me a little woozy for awhile, and I vaguely remember ( Read more... )

Have to fill out a stupid online form to apply for Zambia, which has to be in by Monday, but half the questions I don't have any information on. There's no contact numbers to ask about them, and I won't see anyone till the due date. Fuuuuuun.
