And Everything: Ianto's story part nine
Okay guys here's part nine, its a bit long and maybe a bit angst but I hope you like it anyway.

As soon as they where safety back in the hub Jack kissed Ianto passionately on the lips. Ianto could feel Jack running his fingers through his hair as Jack tighten his grip on Ianto’s waist. Ianto kissed him passionately back until he heard a little voice, “Daddy” it squealed excitedly. Pulling out of their kiss Ianto turned to see a little girl standing in the doorway of Jack’s office.
She had long dark hair that had a curl to it as tumbled down over her shoulders and big blue puppy eyes. She had his eyes and Jack’s smile it was defiantly Jack’s he was beaming up him. The little girl was wearing denim shorts that reached her knees and pink converse shoes that matched the pink t-shirt she was wearing. The t-shirt had yellow and green daffodils printed one it and she was holding a teddy bear whose head and left arm where both wrapped in bandages.
She was chewing on its ear as she stared at the both of them. Gwen appeared in the door way behind her, “Oh your back” she said smiling at them. Ianto couldn’t help staring at the little girl in fact he couldn’t take his eyes off her.
“Ianto” said Jack “allow me to introduce you to your daughter… this is Evelyn Lisa Jones” Ianto looked at Jack he had name her after Lisa… his Lisa? “Do you like her name?” he asked.
“Its beautiful… just like she is, did you name her after my Lisa?” Jack nodded. “Why?” it wasn’t that he minded. He knew that Bilis Manger had taken Jack back to the battle of Canary wharf. Owen had shown him CCTV footage where he and Lisa had be in a lab talking…was that why he had name her after Lisa because they had meet? Or did he do it because he thought Ianto would like it?
“It’s a very long story that I’ll tell you some other time…if that’s okay?”
Ianto knew better then to try and get information out of Jack when he wasn’t willing to give it up. If Jack said he would tell him later then he would, but Jack’s version of letter might be a lot longer than Ianto’s. When you live forever time has no meaning.
“Evelyn, sweetheart” said Jack as he bent down to pick up his little girl. “This…” he nodded towards Ianto. “Is Daddy Ianto, why don’t you tell him your special name for him?” said Jack. Both he and Gwen smiled at Ianto as he waited to see what his daughter had named him. She giggled and wiggled in Jack’s arms.
“Danto” she giggled and buried her head in Jack’s shoulder.
“It’s a mix of Daddy and Ianto,” explained Jack. “She not great with words yet, she was having a little bit of trouble saying Ianto and well I’m Daddy”
“I thought you were Mommy,” said Ianto smiling. Jack raised an eyebrow.
“She’s not going to call me Mommy” Jack protested. “Do you want to hold her?”
Ianto arched to hold her, “yes” he breathed. Jack handed Ianto his child she slid her little arms around his neck dropping her teddy as she did so. She leant her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes.
“She’s tried,” said Jack. He bent down and picked up the bear, “poor Freddie” she reached out with one hand for him. Jack handed her back the bear and turned towards the computers. “Gwen are you sure that they didn’t say were they where taking them?”
“What’s going on?” asked Ianto.
“Captain John Hart and co kidnapped Owen and Toshiko,” explained Gwen, “no I’m sure I didn’t hear them say where they were going to take them. But I got knocked out and they messed up the CCTV with their stupid electronic equipment… of course some of the things haven’t come back yet after all that retcon I took…” she turned to Ianto, “long story I’ll tell you later.”
Ianto looked down at Evelyn she was sucking on the Freddie’s ear again and resting her head against his chest. Her little fingers were twirling her hair around them. “Was she alright when I was away?” Jack asked Gwen.
“Oh…well she did cry a lot at first but then I managed to get her settled. She kept asking for dee - dee dum I didn’t know what that was so I read her a story.”
“Dee - dee dum is her music ball, the doctor brought it for her first birthday. When you press the top it plays music and puts on a light show…she can’t sleep without it”
“How old is she now?” asked Ianto, if he had been honest he had expected a nineteen-maybe twenty months old baby. He wasn’t an expert in ageing a baby but she seemed a little older then that. She was toddling and talking quite a bit.
“She almost two and a half” said Jack not turning away from the computer screens. Ianto looked down at her, he had missed the first two and a half years of his daughter’s life.
“Two and a half” Ianto repeated slowly. He was dumb stuck; she was already turning into a little person with her own ideas and phases. Jack it seemed knew her like the back of his hand. When he watched Jack with he could tell they were as thick as thieves, they even had their own language. Ianto knew nothing about her expect she had a teddy bear called Freddie and that she liked to chew his ear.
“Tucking tell, those tasards haven’t left us a tucking clue as to where the tuck they’ve taken them,” yelled Jack kicking over the waste paper bin.
“Excuse me?” asked Ianto a little bit confused by what had just come out of Jack’s mouth. “What was that?” Jack moved over to Ianto and covered Evelyn’s ears.
“I can’t swear in front of her,” he said. “I don’t want her growing up swearing like some kind of…I don’t know…I just don’t want her swearing or hearing me swear.”
“So you replaced the first letter of every bad word with the letter ‘T’… why that letter?”
“I couldn’t think of any swear words beginning with ‘T’” Ianto thought about it, as far as Ianto could see Jack was right.
“Twat,” said Gwen “begins with a ‘T’” Jack gave her an angry look because he had just uncovered his daughter’s ears.
Suddenly a wind blow through the hub and the air was filled with a strange but wonderful noise. Evelyn looked excitedly up at Ianto, “Ducky” she screamed wiggling in his arms. He put her down before he dropped her; she jumped up and down and looked around the hub, a massive smile on her face. Ianto wanted to know what that sound was and why it made his daughter and partner so happy. Jack was also looking around excitedly, on the upper floor right next to the to hot house’s door a blue box started to appear. Ianto needed no further explanation it was the doctor.
The door to the police box opened and out stepped the man himself. He looked around the hub until his eyes rested on Evelyn his face broke into a massive smile, “Hello beautiful” Evelyn tried to run towards the spiral stair case that lead to where the doctor was standing. Before she could get to the small set of steps the lead to the lower section of the hub Jack said, “Evelyn what did I say?”
She turned to look at Jack and backed away from the steps, “but Ducky” she moaned stretching out her arms towards the doctor. She bobbed up and down on the steps but didn’t move. “I told her that she’s allowed to leave the computer area or my office,” He explained. “The hub is too dangerous for a two year old”
The doctor shouted over his shoulder to someone who was still in the blue box, “I got it right this time” then he ran towards the spiral stair case and over towards Evelyn. He picked her up and she stretched out her arms he span them around and she giggled as the doctor helped her pretend she was an aeroplane.
Up stairs on the second floor two more people stepped out of the police box, Ianto recognized them at once. It was Owen and Toshiko the doctor had some how found them and brought them home. “I thought we could all go out for dinner,” said the doctor as Gwen pushed past them and ran over to hug her friends.
“I’m so glad to see you” she squealed at them. Ianto hugged them both just before Jack had his turn.
“How did you get off the Titanic?” asked Owen.
“Long story, I’ll tell you over dinner” he turned to the doctor, “where would you like to go?”
“TGI Friday’s” he said grinning.
“What do you like about that place?” asked Jack, as he and Toshiko broke apart.
Two hours later the eight of them were all sitting around a round table in TGI Friday’s, Gwen had rang Rhys and told him to meet them there. Evelyn was sitting in between Jack and Ianto; the doctor was on Jack’s right sitting next to Owen and Toshiko. On Ianto’s left were Gwen and Rhys, Ianto didn’t know why but for some reason he felt like the single person at a table full of couples.
‘That’s stupid your with Jack’ he kept reminding himself, he kept reminding himself of how Jack had kissed him in the hub. They had just eaten their way through starters and a large main course and were attempting to finish their deserts.
The doctor had ordered his daughter, ‘Eveie’ as the doctor called her chocolate brownie desert with ice cream. Which she had been eating with her hands and currently had half of it all over her face and down her bib. Which the doctor had pulled out of his pocket and put around her neck, that wasn’t lost on Ianto. Jack was telling a story that the doctor seemed to have heard before as he was telling half of it.
“So then the thing on the floor lifted it head and it had teeth, the thing had teeth as long as your arm and everyone’s looking at me like what you going to do? And I’m like its nothing to do with me…” Jack said grinning when he noticed that everyone was hanging on his every word.
“So their running… naked through this jungle” the doctor continued, “and when they finally made it back to the ship Jack says…”
“I told you we should have turned left,” everyone laughed while Ianto examined Jack over his second glass over wine. For Ianto it had been a week since he last saw Jack, he hadn’t been home but expected that the dinner he had been cooking them would still be sat on the side.
For Jack it had been two and a half years in which he had been raising their child and weather either of them would admit it or not he had been raising her with the doctor’s help. This fact was made all the more clear to Ianto when Jack asked the waiter for a wet wipe to clean Eveie off with. The doctor reached into his pocket and pulled out a whole box of them, “Well I usually find I need them when I’m having dinner with Miss Jones.”
Ianto could feel the jealousy stirring in side of him. He wanted to throw down his napkin and get the hell out off there, or scream at Jack for not returning to him sooner for not giving him the chance to raise his child.
“Owen, Tosh how did you two meet up with the doctor?” asked Gwen.
“Well at first we were in this frozen bubble thing and then the time agency came and unfroze us. We were taken back to their base for medical examination and I, being dead at the time, wasn’t overly fussed about having one so our kind Captain here” Owen pointed at Jack, who looked confused. “Lunched us into space.”
“What do you mean ‘being dead at the time’?” asked Ianto, “aren’t you still dead now?”
“What do you mean I lunched you into space I don’t remember that” said Jack.
“Didn’t the agency steal two years of your memories? Maybe that was included,” said the doctor, another thing that he knew about Jack that Ianto didn’t.
“Anyway after a very long time floating around in space” continued Tosh perhaps sensing Ianto’s annoyance towards the doctor. “We crashed landed on this planet, called new earth, and these cat nurse nuns ran the hospital and they could cure anything…”
“Even it seems death but then they turned out to be growing people to infect with disease so that they could cure these diseases and got asserted and after that the planet kind of went tits up” said Owen “and we got a one of the lift ships to leave the planet before it was quranetted. Our pilot was called…” Owen trailed off and stared at Evelyn before whispering something to Tosh, “She knows the doctor and asked him to meet us outside of ‘z’ space so that he could give us a lift home.”
“But the agency and the Jardoon court up with us and made us land” Tosh jumped in, “Everyone started shooting at each other and Jack you were there and you got shot”
“That was when I turned up,” said the doctor, apparently he liked to but in on everyone’s stories. “I had noticed that the timelines had changed dramatically and gone in a very wrong direction so I had to find out the cause of it. I was running around history trying to find out what went wrong, went I found myself in London in the second world war. I thought I track down Jack and compare history notes, because Jack’s an expert on history and because his version won’t match up with mine and that would lead me to what had changed.” He paused to have a slip of water.
“But Jack was no where to be found and that’s when I realised Jack’s past is your future and if something happened to him then it would effect history. Time traveller’s complicated lot aren’t we? Anyway I had to find Jack before he meet me or went to the game station because that was when the immortal thing happened. I found him and…”
“We used the nanobots that I brought at this fuelling station come giant floating market. To save his life and bong, history bounced back to normal and the doctor gave us a ride home” finished Owen.
“Wow, I don’t remember any of that,” said Jack “it seems you two had quite the adventure.”
Three hours after dinner Ianto stood over his daughter’s cot and looked down at her sleeping form. Everyone including Rhys and the doctor had helped moved Jack into his flat. The doctor and Owen had built the cot she was sleeping in using that sonic screwdriver that the doctor carried around. The flat was quite now everyone except the doctor had gone home. Well the doctor had sort of gone home, his TARDIS was now parked in the living room. It was the quickest way of getting everything Jack owned from the hub to Ianto’s flat. Jack had invited him to stay a while and it seemed that the doctor was going to take him up on his offer.
Jack came up behind Ianto and slid his arms around his waist. “I offered the doctor the sofa for the night but he pointed out that he could just sleep in his bedroom in the TARDIS, he’ll be more comfortable in there” Jack whispered so that he could heard over the strange music Evelyn’s dee - dee dum was playing. It was projecting planets on the ceiling and they were dancing with the stars and a space ship to the music. Jack let go of Ianto and leant into the cot to kiss his little girl on the forehead, “goodnight angel.” He walked to the door and turned to face Ianto he held out a hand. “Sweet dreams” said Ianto as he mimic Jack’s actions and kissed his daughter then he took Jack’s hand and allowed himself to be lead from the room.
Ianto sat down on the bed and started to undress himself. Jack was putting the last of his clothes away. Ianto found himself amazed at how clean and tidy Jack was now, he had spent most of the meal cleaning up their daughters mess and the rest of the evening vacuuming and helping Ianto clean the mess in the kitchen which had been left after Ianto run all the way back to the hub once Bilis Manger had kidnapped Jack. Most of this Jack had done while balancing Evelyn on his hip.
It seemed that Evelyn didn’t liked to be held or looked after by other people, the doctor had said it was because Jack was all she had ever known. The exception to this was the doctor she loved to held and tickled by him, she seemed to like Owen a lot as well. Mainly because on their first meeting he had knelt down to her level offered his hand and introduced himself as “Doctor Owen Harper”. She started calling him ‘Ducky Owen’ which made both of them laugh.
Ianto was a little bit worried at how she pronaonced words, she didn’t grasp many of them correctly and Jack didn’t care he just kept saying it was cute. Daddy, she was fine with. But she said Ducky instead of doctor and Danto instead of Daddy Ianto, which Ianto had to admit was very cute. Toshiko translated as Tossy -toe and Gwen was Wennie, it seemed she had forgotten all about Rhys shortly after meeting him. He reasoned as he hung up his suit jacket and trousers in a dry cleaning bag that he would work on her volcabuary with her later.
Something was nagging at Ianto actually it was two something’s. Ianto now dressed in an old t-shirt and his boxer shorts sat on the end of their bed. “Jack?” he asked Jack turned to look at him he was now completely naked. Ianto turned to face the wall, “you and the doctor seem close”
“He’s my friend” answered Jack.
“were you ever…more than friends?”
“No never”
“Not once in almost two hundred years?”
“No”
“So you jumped through time to sit on the rift and wait for him, because you were just friends…no love involved what so ever?”
“Yan, that’s a completely different question. Are you asking if I’m in love with him or do I love him?”
“Are you in love with him?”
Jack paused before answering, “No.”
“Do you love him?”
“Yes,” no pausing this time Ianto noted.
“I kissed some one else” said Ianto turning to face Jack so that he could see the reaction.
“When?” Jack’s face was confused.
“On the Titanic”
Jack nodded, “was he/ she hot?”
“He, and yes”
“As hot as me?”
“No”
“Was just a kiss?”
“Yes”
“Okay” Jack climbed into their bed.
“It was quite a passionate kiss” Ianto added he was not happy with that ‘Okay’ at all.
“well these things happen, the heat of the moment knowing you could die. Having one last go at really living…its what I miss most about being mortal the feeling of being alive”
“So your not up set or annoyed?”
“No”
“Do you need to confuse anything? Anyone you kissed while away for two years?”
“Yes there’s this girl, she’s a lot younger then me and I kiss her quite a bit… her names Evelyn she’s adorable.”
“Funny”
“Well it was a stupid question, no I did not cheat on you in way what so ever”
Ianto climbed into bed next to Jack he wrapped his arms around Jack, “actually Yan there is something I need to tell you and I don’t think your going to like it” Jack sat up and moved out of Ianto’s hug.
“What is it?” Ianto was worried Jack had stood up and was pulling on his boxer shorts.
“You know that Bilis left me in Torchwood one just before the battle?”
Ianto remembered the pictures Tosh had found from the CCTV. “Yes” he said shortly.
“Well I ended up meeting Lisa there and I told her to run, but she wouldn’t leave without you and we ended up hiding in this closet. We could hear the cybermen moving around outside and we knew that we weren’t going to make it out of there alive, and Lisa she…” Jack took a deep breath before he continued “she let herself get captured so that I could escape with my…our baby” Jack looked at Ianto.
Ianto slipped out of bed, he pulled on some old jeans and picked up a pair of shoes. “Yan please say something” Jack begged.
“I can’t talk to you right now, I can’t even look at you” said Ianto had pulled on his shoes and was heading for the door. “I need to be alone” and he left Jack standing there in his boxer shorts. He handed for the front door and left the flat, he didn’t know where he was going all he knew was that he really needed to think.

“I told you we should have turned left,” everyone laughed while Ianto examined Jack over his second glass over wine. For Ianto it had been a week since he last saw Jack, he hadn’t been home but expected that the dinner he had been cooking them would still be sat on the side.
For Jack it had been two and a half years in which he had been raising their child and weather either of them would admit it or not he had been raising her with the doctor’s help. This fact was made all the more clear to Ianto when Jack asked the waiter for a wet wipe to clean Eveie off with. The doctor reached into his pocket and pulled out a whole box of them, “Well I usually find I need them when I’m having dinner with Miss Jones.”
Ianto could feel the jealousy stirring in side of him. He wanted to throw down his napkin and get the hell out off there, or scream at Jack for not returning to him sooner for not giving him the chance to raise his child.
“Owen, Tosh how did you two meet up with the doctor?” asked Gwen.
“Well at first we were in this frozen bubble thing and then the time agency came and unfroze us. We were taken back to their base for medical examination and I, being dead at the time, wasn’t overly fussed about having one so our kind Captain here” Owen pointed at Jack, who looked confused. “Lunched us into space.”
“What do you mean ‘being dead at the time’?” asked Ianto, “aren’t you still dead now?”
“What do you mean I lunched you into space I don’t remember that” said Jack.
“Didn’t the agency steal two years of your memories? Maybe that was included,” said the doctor, another thing that he knew about Jack that Ianto didn’t.
“Anyway after a very long time floating around in space” continued Tosh perhaps sensing Ianto’s annoyance towards the doctor. “We crashed landed on this planet, called new earth, and these cat nurse nuns ran the hospital and they could cure anything…”
“Even it seems death but then they turned out to be growing people to infect with disease so that they could cure these diseases and got asserted and after that the planet kind of went tits up” said Owen “and we got a one of the lift ships to leave the planet before it was quranetted. Our pilot was called…” Owen trailed off and stared at Evelyn before whispering something to Tosh, “She knows the doctor and asked him to meet us outside of ‘z’ space so that he could give us a lift home.”
“But the agency and the Jardoon court up with us and made us land” Tosh jumped in, “Everyone started shooting at each other and Jack you were there and you got shot”
“That was when I turned up,” said the doctor, apparently he liked to but in on everyone’s stories. “I had noticed that the timelines had changed dramatically and gone in a very wrong direction so I had to find out the cause of it. I was running around history trying to find out what went wrong, went I found myself in London in the second world war. I thought I track down Jack and compare history notes, because Jack’s an expert on history and because his version won’t match up with mine and that would lead me to what had changed.” He paused to have a slip of water.
“But Jack was no where to be found and that’s when I realised Jack’s past is your future and if something happened to him then it would effect history. Time traveller’s complicated lot aren’t we? Anyway I had to find Jack before he meet me or went to the game station because that was when the immortal thing happened. I found him and…”
“We used the nanobots that I brought at this fuelling station come giant floating market. To save his life and bong, history bounced back to normal and the doctor gave us a ride home” finished Owen.
“Wow, I don’t remember any of that,” said Jack “it seems you two had quite the adventure.”
Three hours after dinner Ianto stood over his daughter’s cot and looked down at her sleeping form. Everyone including Rhys and the doctor had helped moved Jack into his flat. The doctor and Owen had built the cot she was sleeping in using that sonic screwdriver that the doctor carried around. The flat was quite now everyone except the doctor had gone home. Well the doctor had sort of gone home, his TARDIS was now parked in the living room. It was the quickest way of getting everything Jack owned from the hub to Ianto’s flat. Jack had invited him to stay a while and it seemed that the doctor was going to take him up on his offer.
Jack came up behind Ianto and slid his arms around his waist. “I offered the doctor the sofa for the night but he pointed out that he could just sleep in his bedroom in the TARDIS, he’ll be more comfortable in there” Jack whispered so that he could heard over the strange music Evelyn’s dee - dee dum was playing. It was projecting planets on the ceiling and they were dancing with the stars and a space ship to the music. Jack let go of Ianto and leant into the cot to kiss his little girl on the forehead, “goodnight angel.” He walked to the door and turned to face Ianto he held out a hand. “Sweet dreams” said Ianto as he mimic Jack’s actions and kissed his daughter then he took Jack’s hand and allowed himself to be lead from the room.
Ianto sat down on the bed and started to undress himself. Jack was putting the last of his clothes away. Ianto found himself amazed at how clean and tidy Jack was now, he had spent most of the meal cleaning up their daughters mess and the rest of the evening vacuuming and helping Ianto clean the mess in the kitchen which had been left after Ianto run all the way back to the hub once Bilis Manger had kidnapped Jack. Most of this Jack had done while balancing Evelyn on his hip.
It seemed that Evelyn didn’t liked to be held or looked after by other people, the doctor had said it was because Jack was all she had ever known. The exception to this was the doctor she loved to held and tickled by him, she seemed to like Owen a lot as well. Mainly because on their first meeting he had knelt down to her level offered his hand and introduced himself as “Doctor Owen Harper”. She started calling him ‘Ducky Owen’ which made both of them laugh.
Ianto was a little bit worried at how she pronaonced words, she didn’t grasp many of them correctly and Jack didn’t care he just kept saying it was cute. Daddy, she was fine with. But she said Ducky instead of doctor and Danto instead of Daddy Ianto, which Ianto had to admit was very cute. Toshiko translated as Tossy -toe and Gwen was Wennie, it seemed she had forgotten all about Rhys shortly after meeting him. He reasoned as he hung up his suit jacket and trousers in a dry cleaning bag that he would work on her volcabuary with her later.
Something was nagging at Ianto actually it was two something’s. Ianto now dressed in an old t-shirt and his boxer shorts sat on the end of their bed. “Jack?” he asked Jack turned to look at him he was now completely naked. Ianto turned to face the wall, “you and the doctor seem close”
“He’s my friend” answered Jack.
“were you ever…more than friends?”
“No never”
“Not once in almost two hundred years?”
“No”
“So you jumped through time to sit on the rift and wait for him, because you were just friends…no love involved what so ever?”
“Yan, that’s a completely different question. Are you asking if I’m in love with him or do I love him?”
“Are you in love with him?”
Jack paused before answering, “No.”
“Do you love him?”
“Yes,” no pausing this time Ianto noted.
“I kissed some one else” said Ianto turning to face Jack so that he could see the reaction.
“When?” Jack’s face was confused.
“On the Titanic”
Jack nodded, “was he/ she hot?”
“He, and yes”
“As hot as me?”
“No”
“Was just a kiss?”
“Yes”
“Okay” Jack climbed into their bed.
“It was quite a passionate kiss” Ianto added he was not happy with that ‘Okay’ at all.
“well these things happen, the heat of the moment knowing you could die. Having one last go at really living…its what I miss most about being mortal the feeling of being alive”
“So your not up set or annoyed?”
“No”
“Do you need to confuse anything? Anyone you kissed while away for two years?”
“Yes there’s this girl, she’s a lot younger then me and I kiss her quite a bit… her names Evelyn she’s adorable.”
“Funny”
“Well it was a stupid question, no I did not cheat on you in way what so ever”
Ianto climbed into bed next to Jack he wrapped his arms around Jack, “actually Yan there is something I need to tell you and I don’t think your going to like it” Jack sat up and moved out of Ianto’s hug.
“What is it?” Ianto was worried Jack had stood up and was pulling on his boxer shorts.
“You know that Bilis left me in Torchwood one just before the battle?”
Ianto remembered the pictures Tosh had found from the CCTV. “Yes” he said shortly.
“Well I ended up meeting Lisa there and I told her to run, but she wouldn’t leave without you and we ended up hiding in this closet. We could hear the cybermen moving around outside and we knew that we weren’t going to make it out of there alive, and Lisa she…” Jack took a deep breath before he continued “she let herself get captured so that I could escape with my…our baby” Jack looked at Ianto.
Ianto slipped out of bed, he pulled on some old jeans and picked up a pair of shoes. “Yan please say something” Jack begged.
“I can’t talk to you right now, I can’t even look at you” said Ianto had pulled on his shoes and was heading for the door. “I need to be alone” and he left Jack standing there in his boxer shorts. He handed for the front door and left the flat, he didn’t know where he was going all he knew was that he really needed to think.
