I went maple syruping this weekend. I didn't get to do a whole lot of the actual sit and watch water boil part (which is really fun, I'm serious) but I did have a good weekend. I went up to the Farm today to do some sugaring. I love fresh maple syrup. I mean the syrup that is still in the boiler and is so fresh it burns your finger. It is rich and buttery and sweet and clings to the inside of your mouth. So very, very tasty ( Read more... )

Well, as life gets busier things fall by the wayside. I think one of the middle things to go for me is LJ. The first is usually sleep, followed shortly by exercise, reading, cooking, writing and general self-maintenance. I suppose I need to fix this habit. Really, my employer ought to know that putting all of the field staff in a room all morning makes for crazy. We are not nicely bred indoor pets. The farm was very pretty winter wonderland. We (my mom and I) went up yesterday morning-ish and stayed until this evening.
