Happy Hearts Day

Feb 15, 2011 22:03

So, Wes did come by to check on me while I was sick. He brought 2 movies on Thursday, The Last Exorcism and How to Train Your Dragon. He said Dragon was a palate cleanser :). We cuddled on the couch, ate spaghetti, and alternately threw off blankets or pulled them up close with the fevers and chills. We repeated the same on Friday, but it was Seven Pounds and the palate cleanser was Wall-E.
Friday night Wes went up to Huntington to talk to his friend Mark who may be joining the Coast Guard with him (after asking "are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone when you're sick") :).

My Valentine's Day was wonderful :). I was watching movies at home on Sunday night with Stacy, KP, Cole, and Brandon, and Wes walked in the door with a big smile on his face and said "your hair looks awesome!" It was nice to be complimented like that, I felt great. He gave me a very big hug, then pulled me on his lap and buried his face in my hair. He asked me to stay with him, so he came back and got me later that night after getting some of his homework done. At his house he said "wait here!" and ran up the stairs. After a few minutes, he came running back down carrying a glass vase full of baby's breath and a dozen breathtaking red roses. On the card in the flowers he had written (in cursive. huh.);
"These are nowhere as beautiful as you. :)"

I worked for 10 hours on Monday which means a nice paycheck, and then it was time to celebrate Valentines! I was panicking a bit because i had literally NOTHING to wear, and wanted to wear a dress. I had less than an hour before Wes was going to pick me up. Stacy's car was here but she was not; I called her 3 times but she didn't answer, so I borrowed it to drive one mile to the town center and get a dress. I left her a voicemail about the situation and promised to be back in 20 minutes. Later that night she texted me and said "did you just drive my car again?" and "I'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't drive my car without my say. When it comes down to it it is my car." Oh really? I called her to see if I could borrow it and went less than a mile. She knows I know its her car. I think shes just bitter because I met someone and shes upset its going nowhere with Cole on Valentine's Day and she had no plans. I just wrote back "ok I won't" bc I didn't want to deal with her on my wonderful Valentine's Day.

So I'm up at the town center and can find absolutely nothing. I was panicking just a little pit because Wes was picking me up a few minutes after 7, it was 6:32, and I was still at the shops. I decided to do one last check and ran into Maurice's, a shop I'd never been to. I couldn't find anything cute (what is with the dresses lately?), and I was running out of time. I REALLY wanted something in color, and was speaking at top speed about my evening, not being ready, wanting color. The shop girl pointed out a red dress that they had on clearance, which I almost didn't try on because it was so late. I did though, and it was perfect. I wore it out of the store with my work shoes and black socks on, til I got home and could change into silver heels :).
Wes brought me chocolates, as well as chocolate covered strawberries; one of which we shared in the car together. He told me I looked gorgeous, more than once. We'd be driving, and he'd just look over and raise his eyebrows and smile like he'd been slapped and say it again. He looked very dashing in his suit, which I told him in turn :).
He took me to the steak house by the Lake View resort, which neither of us had been to. A patron of his at the bar had told him about it a while ago... and earlier yesterday, he drove up there to check it out himself to make sure it had the right ambiance and was where he wanted to take me :D.
The food was excellent; the restaurant had live jazz; we stayed through dessert. We ended up being the last couple in the restaurant, holding hands across the table and finishing our bottle of wine.

His present was a wrapped(silver tissue paper, shiny red ribbon) piece of cardboard featuring pictures of the caverns on one side and pictures of the cabin on the other. He was thrilled; we leave on Friday.
