Well! Apparently, it's official. I have started producing colostum. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's the yellow, antibody-rich premilk that a mother produces. And, I do mean yellow. No wonder all the breastfeeding advocates nickname the stuff "liquid gold."
Now, I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised, as I was warned production could start pretty much any time during third trimester. It's just that today was the first time I saw any of it actually expressed. I'm not leaking it, per se (thank goodness), but 'twas definitely there! Looks like my breasts are ready to be put to some real use. You'd think the fact that they've swollen to 37"(!!! Yeah, I still can't believe it, and I'm the one they're attached to!) at the fullest would've been a tip-off, but no... Wacky, huh?
