Whoops...It's been awhile!

Anya is nearly 16 months old!  Whoa, where does the time go?
  • Walking.  She is doing so much better at walking.  The other day, we went to Sears and I let her just go.  It was probably her best day ever.  She loved walking around the store and was saying hi to everyone.  I think she made friends with everyone in the store.
  • Talking.  She doesn't shut up.  She's got a whole bunch of words now.  My favorites right now are "purple" and "sit".  "Sit" doesn't sound like sit and it's hilarious.
  • Growing.  She climbed up into the 3rd percentile for weight at her last doctor's appointment (and 8th percentile for height), so we're growing!  She's gained some more weight since then and is now at 20 pounds!
  • Eating.  Speaking of growing, we're doing pretty good with food.  She now drinks her milk, but we are still mixing it with pureed fruit.  We're changing the ratio every week or so, and now we're having to save some milk we make for the next night.  So, we're doing better with milk intake.  She also likes cheese and pepperoni.  She loves fruit and will eat nearly a whole peach when I cut one up for her.  It's crazy.  Her favorite fruit are strawberries and raspberries, though.
  • Sleeping.  She's still sleeping about 11-12 hours a night without waking.  Which I thank her every morning for...what a little angel.  I was having trouble putting her down for her naps in the morning, so I tried one nap a day and it worked out alright.  It took her a week or so to lengthen her afternoon nap, but now it's around 3 hours, starting at around 2:30/3.  We have a tried and true routine and when we're done, she goes right into her crib, curls up with her lovey of choice and falls asleep within 10 minutes.  It's a freaking miracle.  The same thing happens at bedtime.  How'd I get this lucky?  I have no idea.
  • Playing.  I have a huge tub of crayons for siblings to play with when they come in for lessons, so Anya has discovered that.  She'll now scribble away on paper with all the crayons.  She likes to sit in the box with the crayons as well.  Most of the day, you'll find her walking around with a crayon in her hand.  Which isn't great for my furniture.  Washable slipcovers are awesome.  We've gone to storytime at our local library and we still head out to the aquarium every week.  I'm going to be signing her up for a music class starting in January.
  • Me.  I've been getting back into my old life now that I have weaned her.  I decided to push myself and audition for the symphony down here and I won a spot!  (Auditions were this past weekend.) So, I'll be playing the rest of their season.  That means a lot more babysitters, but I feel more comfortable with that now.
So, things are good!  :)
