Well, the first week off of work has been really good. I feel like I could probably teach, but it sure feels good to not have to teach. I spent the first few days here doing my nesting. I finally washed the newborn (all 4 of them that I have) and 0-3 month clothes and put them away. I packed up the diaper bag, and my hospital bag is pretty close to being ready. I'm finishing up projects that I've put off. I guess I feel good that I have time to do these things now (with time in between to rest). I've got plenty of things to keep me busy over the next few weeks, so I shouldn't get bored. I think today I will get stuff on the walls of the baby's room, so it doesn't feel so stark in there. I have one canvas that I saved for the room, but I'm still not sure what I should put on it. I'm sure I'll figure something out.
My endo called about my blood test on Monday, and numbers are still good. She said that the next test I do can be done at the hospital when I have the baby, so I wouldn't have to come in. I sure hope that my numbers stay normal for at least a few weeks after the baby's born so I don't have a huge crash or anything. But, knowing how much hormones move and change after birth, I'm not too optimistic about that. I've read that thyroid issues can affect breastfeeding. We'll see what happens, I guess.
Oh, how I'm feeling... Baby is still moving a lot. She really is pushing down on my bladder, so I take that as a good sign. Yesterday, she had a foot or a knee jammed up into my ribs, but it didn't last long. I'm still getting the Braxton Hicks contractions every once in awhile. Everything is more difficult to do...getting up out of a chair, leaning forward, rolling over in bed, moving in general. :)
Yesterday, pregnancy clumsiness got the best of me and I cut a chunk out of my thumb with a knife. It really isn't that bad (doesn't need stitches), but I'm going to try and avoid sharp objects for the rest of the pregnancy. I also poked myself with a needle multiple times yesterday. I promise I won't operate heavy machinery unless necessary. :)
