A whole lot of good!

I finished Half-Blood Prince last night.  Awesome book!  I got choked up reading the scene where everyone stops and listens to Fawkes' lament.  wow.  I can't believe I have to wait a month for Deathly Hallows.  Well, it's closer than it's ever been.  Damn.  It's exciting!

Speaking of "This Book Is So Awesome!" --- I just got my Ministry of Magic CD in the mail.  It's very good.  They are very pop, synth pop, and very good.  I hope they are going to be at Prophecy.  They seem to get on well enough with Harry & the Potters since they put a cover of "TBISA!" on their disc.  Yay!

I have been thinking about going back through my "study copies" of the Harry Potter books that I have been reading these past few months and continuing my notecards (subjects and relations of themes, etc), but I don't know... that's alot of work!  sheesh.

We saw a good movie today.  Pierrepoint (the US poster has the subtitle "The Last Hangman" added to it, even though it isn't true.)  It was really good.  Timothy Spall (Wormtail from the HP movies!) was excellent as Albert Pierrepoint.  It was very moving, but not overly dramatic.  I think it is a powerful anti-capital punishment film, even though it hardly openly addresses the issue.  I would say that it's the best film I've seen so far this year.  I'd like to see Spall get an Oscar nod for it, but since it was made in 2005, I don't think that is going to happen.  Oh well.  It was co-produced by Masterpiece Theatre, so maybe it will show up on the tv where more people can see it.

harry potter, movies!, books!
