The ambulance just left the shop. A student was dragging a piece of sheet metal out of the storage rack, and unbeknownst to him another piece had caught onto it. The second piece fell over and the corner of it hit his ankle, gouging out a large wound. Luckily all major arteries, nerves and tendons were spared, but he'll need stitches, so he went to the hospital. Shop accidents are very rare here, but when they do happen they are always very scary.
My day has otherwise been peaceful. No assistants, no showcase madness, no deadlines looming. Just loose ends needing to be tied up and cluttered offices needing to be tidied up. My appointment with the surgeon is tomorrow morning, where I'll find out if my gallbladder has bit the dust. I really hope not.
