Ako walks through the front door and, with motions made smooth from practice, turns to check that the door is firmly shut. Not that she can really tell given that the door has been replaced by an additional and identical stretch of wall.

Thus we have Ako at a table with both tea and a decent view of the door. Well, where there should be a door.
