[OOM: Martha Jones has a hell of a day, and a hell of an evening. Luckily, there’s a scruffy time-traveller who can give her a bit of time off.]

The Doctor steps into the bar and holds the door open for Martha to step through. “Welcome to Milliways, the bar at the end of the universe!”

Sameth has made a wax carving of a penguin to make a mold from and he's currently trying to see if it will balance, when they enter.

Martha's statement catches his attention as the penguin falls over, "There's a manual?"

Today he's fairly clean since working with wax is neater than other things in the forge and still in nice quality medieval clothes.

She slides him a grin.

"Apparently! Bar gave me a copy when I asked, anyway." She glances at Sameth's creation. "What are you making?"

"A penguin toy for Guppy's son. What's it called?"

A manual might actually be useful as he gets the penguin to stand up again.

"Ooh, I've heard of him. He's like the resident medic, right?"

Martha smiles. "The Multiverse For Dummies."

"Yes, though he's never had to patch me up. I met Malcolm Crowe when I was in the infirmary. That's a good title."

"I don't know him." She holds out her hand. "I'm Martha, though."

"Sameth, good to meet you,"

He shakes her hand firmly as the penguin falls over again.

"I'm going to be a doctor, too, so I suppose I should check out the Infirmary properly for when I qualify."

She smiles. "Pleased to meet you, too."

"It seems like a good place not that I've spent a lot of time in it,"

Just once after Blodwen almost killed him.

Martha laughs. "Well, you're not really meant to. I'll have enough work when I qualify without having more here."

"I don't think it gets used that often. I just kind of fell through the floor."

She winces. "Any particular reason why?"

[makesthings]

"I was in a fight and the person I was fighting rotted the floor out from under me,"

He only broke his wrist and almost died thanks to being poisoned, nothing too bad.

"Nice." Why was she expecting a rational explanation? This is Milliways, after all. Lightly, "Well, if you could not do that again on my watch, I'd be grateful."

"I don't plan on it,"

Avoiding Blodwen is a major part of Sam's plans to keep safe in Milliways.

"Good," says Martha firmly. "It doesn't sound like you had much fun."
