Around the bar, around noon

Teja was out by the lake shore, practising with a sword that was, in fact, lighter and slimmer than he was used to; he had made himself one like those Will Turner made, or Kurt Wagner used. He wanted to see how it might be possible to speed up his movements, the way that damnable gelding had done to win the duel.

Asar-Suti was inside, having lunch

A small blonde person approaches the purple god, peering at him over the table.

"Boo!"

[asar_suti]

"Hey, you, little one!" Asar-Suti says, putting down his book. "Do you want some lunch as well?"

[vs_nuggan]

Jack reaches into his pocket and pulls out half a biscuit.

"Biccit."

[asar_suti]

"Oh, I see - you already have your lunch, small person!" Asar-Suti says. "Very nice."

[vs_nuggan]

Jack puts the biscuit back in his pocket.

"Jack." He says, looking enquiringly at the purple man.

[asar_suti]

"I'm Asar-Suti, little Jack!" Asar-Suti says. "You're Shufti's Jack, aren't you? My, you have grown! But little mortals do that."

[vs_nuggan]

"Mummy." Jack points to Shufti, lying on a nearby couch, half asleep.

"Asasooty?" He tries.

[asar_suti]

"Very good!" Asar-Suti says. "Yes, that's me!"

And the little one was who he'd thought it was. They change so fast!

It's doubtful whether Jack remembers Asar-Suti from before, but the man seems to be friendly, and mummy isn't far away.

"Me two."

[asar_suti]

"Awww!" Asar-Suti said. "So big already! You've gorwn fast!"

[vs_nuggan]

"Up an up an up!" Jack says, bouncing.

Shufti opens her eyes and looks up, having heard her little'un in conversation.

"Oh hello Asar-Suti."

[asar_suti]

"Hello, Shufti!" Asar-Suti greets her. "He's grown big! It's amazing. Little mortals are fascinating."

[vs_nuggan]

Shufti smiles tiredly. "You're telling me. I can't believe he's already two."

She moves over. "It's been a while, how are you?"

[asar_suti]

"Dusty!" Asar-Suti says. "There's snow in the garden, and all that happens outside is people sparring and duelling. So I'm working in the magic library."

[vs_nuggan]

"That sounds nice. I haven't been training out there for a few days." She fiddles with her Security badge. "Probably should have, I'll catch up in a couple days."

[asar_suti]

"The rats told me there was a real duel out there a few days ago," Asar-Suti says. "Not just sparring and training. That grim Goth king lost against a very pretty castrato singer, which I find very amusing."
