This weekends' big news was, of course, Jennifers' wedding. This has to be told from my viewpoint, since of course it's the only one I'm sure of!
First, the practice was a lot of fun. I was appreciative of the chance to work things out so that I knew what I was up to. The dinner was fun as well. I did have to help settle Tara a little, but we decided we'd let Jen live until she came back from her honeymoon :)
The wedding was awesome. I loved being up there with the minister as the wedding party came down the aisle - one of the high points of my life, I have to say. I did OK on the readings until number three, when I made the mistake of meeting Jen's eyes (she was arms length away). Uh oh. Had to stop for a second, but I got my composure back and made it through.
Got a few dances with Linda, and one all too short dance with Jen - maybe 30 seconds. Damn - I was looking forward to that too. I wanted to dance with Tara, but she was too bombed. I have a couple concerns about that girl, but there seems to be no way for me to talk to her. No phone number, never answers emails. I am going to have to go to Kent and shanghai her, I think. Yeah, I'm serious.
Jackie wouldn't dance. I guess I'll have to wait until her wedding to get a dance with her.
I had to listen to a long winded speech from Tara as we were leaving. It was kind of touching actually - I know she loves me, anyway. I'd like to talk to her more often than at just special occasions though. That really goes for both of you - yeah, I know you are (eventually) reading this, Jen.
Jen seemed to be having a blast - it was fun to watch her and Ed. Kate and Abbey were having a lot of fun too. Sweet kids. I should have dragged them out for a dance :) The groomsmen did YMCA - that was hilarious. The throwing of the garter was fun to watch too. Tara pretty well had the bouquet staked out - I don't think anyone was going to interfere with her. She looked pretty determined.
Kermit behaved himself very well and seemed to have a lot of fun. I guess he as a few good points. Roger was there, but that's about all you can say. He spent most of the night starting at the tabletop. What is wrong with that guy anyway? Carol, Mom and Linda talked a lot that night. Got a chance to chat a little with Katie, not much with Teresa.
Had to leave early to get mom home, bummer. I'd have liked to close the place. Mom isn't much for staying out though. Neither is Linda, really. All in all though a lot of fun.
