Hi, Jen - just thought I'd post a little something to you in my journal. I know you're in kind of a hurricane of excitement, busyness and nerves about your wedding, and that's OK. It'll be over with before you know it, and you'll be on your honeymoon. So take a few deep breaths and get some sleep!
There are a lot of things I could say to you at this point, but frankly I'm not all that good at that sort of thing. I'm better at putting my foot in my mouth, so I'll make it as plain and simple as possible - you're my niece. I love you an awful lot. I loved you as a little girl, as a teenager, and I love you as the woman you've become. I think you know all that, but I figured you might like to hear it. :)
I don't know what the future holds for you and Ed. But I do know that I hope that it holds a lot of happiness and success for you both. I don't know Ed, really. He seems like a pretty nice guy. At this point I could say that he doesn't know what he's getting himself into, but I'll tease you about that kind of thing later. I do know he's getting a pretty wonderful person to share his life with.
You know me - I always tend to put my nieces on pedestals. I'm not unaware that no one is perfect, so I am going to offer one small piece of advice - patience and calm. I know neither comes easily to any of us at times, but try your best. It will pay off.
And that's it. Know that your family loves you. Know that I do. Know that we're always here for you no matter what. Be happy.
