Chapter 28
“Junsu, what is the meaning of this. No, don’t tell me. It was my brother’s fault isn’t it? Is he so unbearable to live with? Stupid…blind brother.” Changmin mumbled the last word.
Junsu can only shake his head, for a great lump was forming in his throat and he couldn’t speak. Hyori appeared from nowhere and took Junsu away to ride his donkey. He was too distraught to notice Changmin rode to his older brother.
“Yoochun,” Changmin implored his stone-faced brother, “What is the reason, the causes, for your treatment on Junsu? Why is he dressed like a low serf and made to ride the little donkey?” He waited for answers but none were spoken.
“I really can’t understand your reason, seriously. He is beautiful and desirable. How can you shun him?” Still, no answer was given to him. He sighed in exasperation. I will travel now with Sir Junho. Remember brother, he is your wife.”
“He is the one who forget…” Yoochun said quietly.
Changmin frowned up at Yoochun. “Do you think Junsu planned all of this, that he had a hand on what happened this morning? That maybe, he wanted the attention of other men?”
Yoochun shrugged in answer.
“If I am not your brother and didn’t value my life any longer, I will challenge you for that. Anyone who was falsely accused and forced to act as a servant deserves a champion especially Junsu. He is a noble. This is a serious matter. What are you thinking brother?”
“Are you sure that he was falsely accused? Do you have proof of his innocence?”
Changmin smiled. “Because I know you, brother. You care for your possession and on that island of yours you would know when he sneezed or not. And that Black Guard of yours would kill anyone, any man who came near Junsu. What I said is the truth, am I not? You have always known his whereabouts, every minute, even to each second.”
“Yes, until we left for Wales. He was very clever in hiding.”
“Hiding! Then you are lucky to have someone that loves you so that he will dress as a serf to follow his beloved. Tell me, would any of your court lovers… love their own husbands? I worried too much. Junsu will have his own way, and if that way includes a glowering, angry accusing…” He laughed at Yoochun’s black look.
“There is no understanding when someone in love, in this case, a boy in love. I can’t understand why he chose you as his husband. I will give everything, anything, to be chosen by someone like him.” Changmin frowned at the fierceness of the look given to him by Yoochun. “I’ll go now. Maybe I could return to Carstairs later this year. Go in peace, brother.”
Junsu was unaware of Changmin’s going; in truth, he was aware of little around him. His own thoughts raged with one another.”
He didn’t even hear the thundering hoofs of Harang’s as Yoochun rode toward the little donkey. He only felt himself being lifted through the air, coming to rest on the Frisian’s back, held firmly in his Yoochun’s arms. Junsu knew that Yoochun was angry but he did not care. At least, for the moment, he held him close.
They rode to the head of the line of people. Yoochun roughly tore the russet cloak from Junsu, flinging it to the ground. Then he trust his hands in Junsu golden tresses, pulling his head back, Junsu face toward him. In spite of the pain Yoochun know he caused him, Junsu smiled up at him, his eyes shining.
“Hear me now, darling, and hear me well. You are mine and I don’t like to share you with anyone.”
Junsu eyes held his. “I have never been other, my Lion.”
He stared at his childish face for a moment and then looked away. Junsu leaned back against him, and they traveled in silence.

“And now, tell me what I am to do with you.” Yoochun voice was harsh as he stared at Junsu, the silk walls of his tent surrounding them. “Did you think I rode to Wales for fun, for pleasures? Tell me, have you always had your way, so that a man who goes for war must have an added burden to care for?”
“War? There is no war,” Junsu replied hotly.
Yoochun glared at him. “Do you think I lie? Top has decided to be the new king. He rides north of here. Our King, Kang Ho Dong sent me a message to find the man and stop his rebellion. Did you think I left my Island to ravel to this country so that I may enjoy the scenery? Don’t you think, that I don’t have burden enough; to care for my Black Guard and then to care for you, a noble by birth?”
“No, I didn’t think that…”
“That’s it! You did not think. Now you had your fun, you have dressed as a serf and deceived me. But tell me, boy, what purpose did you have in mind in all this? If my memory still serves me, we last spoke of your returning to your parents.”
Junsu knew, he deserved all this. He hadn’t thought of the consequences when he had taken the disguised. How many time that his mother punished him, just for the thing that he had done on impulse?
“Speak up, boy! I know you have a tongue.”
Junsu lifted his chin and was glad anger was replacing his guilt feelings. “I don’t want to…to leave. I wanted to…”
“Go on, I’m listening.”
Junsu stood and touched the silk, glad to have removed the rough wool mantle. He whirled to face Yoochun, eyes alight and hair in wild disarray. “You are my husband and I love you.” He waited breathlessly for Yoochun’s answer.
His black eyes did not soften. “You have an odd way of showing your love. You robbed me, you…”
“Stop!” Junsu put his hands over his ears. “I know it all. I have lived with this accusation, every moment of it. Have I not been caught day after day between threats and rage? We had two days of love and we married because of that love. Is there no way that I can bring that love to us? Is there no way I can prove myself to you?” Junsu pleaded, tears at the end of his beautiful eyes.
Yoochun watched him and then moved closer to him, his hand touching Junsu’s cheek gently. “I don’t know,” he said quietly.
The sound of iron clashing with iron brought Yoochun’s head up.
