I went to my first brunch today, and I have to admit, I was a little nervous. By the way brunch is lunch plus breakfast, mixed together temporally. I think it ought to be called "Breakfast plus Lunch: A Temporal Chimera" to avoid confusion. As it turns out, it was delicious. Fine mixes of meats, cheeses and fruit. That isn't what I was nervous about though, it was the conversation. I know a whole list of things not to say at the breakfast table, as well as the dinner table and the lunch table. But the brunch table is a whole other thing entirely. I could assume that the conversation should be much the same, but what if it wasn't supposed to be? What if I am there making innocuous comments about the weather, and the other people at the table are like "What the fuck are you talking about, this is brunch asshole." Imagine how embarrassing that would be. As it turns out, brunch talking rules are basically the same as breakfast and lunch conversation. That should probably be worked into the new title for confusion avoidance also.
