i got a note in my school mailbox that said, "you really like to say 'okay.' we counted how many times you said it for 27 minutes. april fools (late). sincerely, anonymous" then there were hatch marks. 125 hatch marks.
holy cow! apparently, i don't say "okay" in normal conversation, but when in front of a class, i use it as my filler word (i did manage to get rid of "um" a year ago, but have apparently replaced it).
i'm not sure if it really is an april fools joke, but i did start listening to myself, and i do need to find a new filler word or stop talking... kinda hard when you're trying to keep a class's attention.
