Epic Bromance Live! On Stage!

May 23, 2011 19:54

EEEEEEEEE CONCERT!!!!! I would have posted from the Prudential Center, but I was far too busy fangirling!! I went with the aforementioned illuminations and mousapelli, and paranoidsistah also came with us. Sandra was a JYJ/TVXQ n00b, but we have convinced her of the epic bromance-- Actually, we didn't have to do anything. Jaejoong and Yoochun did it quite nicely themselves!

And then there was Junsu's ass, which really deserves a post of its own. I didn't take any pics of it last night, but in case you need a refresher, it looks and moves exactly like this:

probably because it's the same ass. :) At one point in the show, they all wore longer black jackets, and I have to say, it was a crying shame. Really more like a criminal offence. Junsu's ass should NEVER be covered by a jacket. (Well, okay, not when he's dancing. I wouldn't object (much) if it was, say, during a blizzard.)

God, they were amazing!! Even better than the Showcase last November! Also, I was a LOT closer this time!

Crappy pictures are crappy, but even the fancams people have taken don't do them justice. All three of them looked flawless, and they sang beautifully. Yes, of course I'm biased, but really, they were amazing! They performed all of the songs from their English album, The Beginning, including the remixes of Be My Girl and Empty, and five of the six songs from Their Rooms. (They didn't perform Chun's song - Unnamed Song Part 1 - which is him rapping for like 8 minutes with J & J singing backup vocals.) They also did their four new songs, (I can't wait for them to record them! *makes grabby hands*) and of course Chajatta from the Sungkyunkwan Scandal OST. (Actually, before the show even started, they played that backing track and we all sang along! Hee!)

For the Be My Girl remix, the back-up dancers had choreographed a flash mob dance for the audience to dance along to, and yes, of course we all danced! I may have whacked a few people with my light stick, but that's all part of the concert experience. I may have also whacked Sandra in the boob a few times, but what are friends for?

Oh, yes. And there was this moment, during Yoochun's solo song, "I Love You":

No, really. The comments on the websites where this pic has been posted are priceless. "I am so hurt!" (Crai moar, kiddies! It was HAWT!

If I have one complaint, it's that Jae and Junsu pretty much chickened out of speaking English. (Chun laughed at them. "Thank you" doesn't count. :-P Although Jae did say one thing along the lines of "Are you having a good time?" After months of English classes, that's all he's got? :-P) So yeah, not enough talking between sets like they normally do for their Asian shows, but that's really a very minor thing. :)

I know most of you aren't exactly fans of the genre, but these guys seriously know how to put on a show, and damn, they know how to sing! (And sing live!) And dance! They'd better come back next year! (And you should all go see them when they do!) :)

After the show, we hooked up with lauriegilbert. Sandra went home (and now I need to send her lots of pics and vids and music!), but the four of us went out for (surprise!) Korean BBQ (GO MEAT!) which was NOMMY as always, and then we ventured out on the Great Dunkin Donuts Hunt, where we discovered that if you need a Wells Fargo bank or a McDonalds, 3rd Avenue is your best friend, and is also eerily like driving in a time loop. Alas, neither serve donuts. (FAIL!) But we did find one eventually on 2nd Avenue @ 40th Street which is open 24 hours. In case you're ever in NYC and need a donut at 2 a.m.!

And so I'll leave you with my new favorite lyric(s) macro:

It's from their song IDS (Ideal Scenario) - You decide. At the 14 second mark. Granted, I'm a fan of "pants", but he clearly uses the "pl" diphthong. (although lauriegilbert thinks it sounds like "breast".) Also, it's Junsu singing, not Jaejoong, but mousapelli was indeed correct that this sexy Jae pic was the optimal picture for our purposes. Oh, yeah -- the actual lyric is "plans" but I like our version better. And I must thank the awesome red_squared who made this for us! ♥ ♥

jaebaby is a (hawt!)creepy licky stalker, jyj, k-pop goes my brain, awesome shit
