I walked past it a few minutes ago, and it was on..and I don't remember turning it on. Eeep. It obviously wasn't pleased that I considered not going on line at all tonight, and took matters into its own virtual hands. Weird.
Anyway, I'm here. There, are you happy, Mr. SyncMaster 763? That must be your name, because it's written on your monitor. LOL.
There's something going on up the street; there are 3 cop cars and 2 fire trucks parked about 4 buildings up..too far for me to see what's happening. I know, I tried leaning over the balcony, but the trees are in the way. All I can see are the flashing lights, and I can hear raised voices. I'm curious, but not enough to go downstairs to the street. Maybe a bunch of kids pulled a fire alarm or something.
I went to work yesterday morning, and it was a crazy day. There was a long drawn out Code Blue in the room, equipment and staff everywhere, adrenalin levels high, lots of noise and action. So much so that the patient in the next bed, who was sitting up in a recliner chair was whisked in his chair into the next room..poor guy was paranoid already, and really didn't need to see all that! I was busy with my patient at the time; the Gastrointestinal Service was in doing an endoscopy on him, trying to find out why he was bleeding. (Duodenal ulcers, that's why) I think I should have given the GI Resident some of the sedative I was giving my patient, he was so hyper. Chill, dude. Oh, and by the way, it would make my life easier if you'd just give me time to actually give the sedation to the poor patient. Geez.
Things finally settled down, and the shift came to its conclusion.
Then I drove out to the farm after work; it's weird driving down the highway in the dark, everything looks so different. Got there around 9 p.m. I went out last night because the Farrier was supposed to be coming at 8 a.m., and today was Michelle's day off. Much easier for me than getting up at 6 a.m. (again!) and driving out there in rush hour traffic.
Woke up at 7:45, got up and ran down to open the gate for Nick........who never showed up.
We got all the horses fed and out, cleaned all the stalls, watched Goldie's training session, had lunch, finished the work, and then went out for a bit of dinner. I got back home at 8 p.m. tonight. The cats were not amused.
So now I'm tired and heading off to bed. Ah, sleeping in my own bed. I always appreciate so much more after staying out at the farm. Sue's guest bedroom bed has the hardest damned mattress, I feel like I'm sleeping on a block of wood. Got the bruises on my hips to prove it, too. My bed is so much more comfy.
Huh. All the action up the street is over. It's quiet out there again.
