Woot! Survivor Premiere.
Four tribes, split down age and gender lines.
The twist- Exile island, one castaway exiled to a night alone, the first one to take it on the chin? Misty. She did reasonably well, even played up the possibility of having found the hidden idol.
As expected each group has a 'stand out' personality already. Aras of the younger men. Shane of the older men. Courtney of the younger women. And it was a close one between Cirie and Tina of the older women, with Tina pulling it out in the end because she was so LOUD all the time. Whew.
So since I've got very little to go with right now, I'm just gonna state my first superficial inclinations. Aras is sexy, Austin is gorgeous and Nick is a cutie. I really like Terry of the older men - I have a thing for pilots, they seem to be go getters. I like Ruth-Marie of the older women, she seems balanced- physically and intellectually. The younger girls.. I'm not sure, I like the side of Courtney that the other girls seemed to be irritated by. I would have been there wondering over that sea turtle's death with her. Danielle says she's a sporty girl.. but why didn't she take a little more of a lead if she wanted shelter so badly? Stop 'I dunno-ing' and give a little direction if you feel so strongly. Duh. Sally seemed a little crabby. Misty's an engineer, and may come off a little arrogant if she's not careful.
Wasn't sorry to see Tina go, since she was complaining about how Ruth-Marie was smashing the coconuts when she couldn't even SEE what was going on.
Should be a fun season.
The format wasn't as different as they dubbed it to be, not that I'm surprised, we just got to see the killer as it was happening as well as while the investigation was going on. I'll admit to being surprised that the wife knew about him though. I was wrong about his motivations, thought he was a pro, instead of getting revenge and taking out an old threat.
I did note that both Nash and Ally were basically both killed trying to do the right thing. Nash calling everyone he ever wronged for his 12 step program and Ally because she caused the accident.
I loved Hodges in this ep. He was still doing his snark, but he seems more.. relaxed. "I told you it was a piece of crap," had to have been one of the best lines.
Sara was especially adorable tonight too. She handled the goofy car salesman with a lightness that made me smile.
Archie is so hot when he's concentrating. Ditto for Bobby. Mmm.
Brass gets to be a hard ass in this one, with Ally's friend and Kooper's wife. Rawr.
Sofia! "I need CSI." Why does her delivery of that line make me all giddy? I've totally lost it when it comes to her. She just rules, on so many levels.
And the best part, of course, was the Nick/Greg scene in the desert! My tummy flipped when Sara left them alone, she knew they don't get enough quality time. Sweet girl.
Greg rocks. The porn just comes to him he's so awesome. Heh. "Every time I come to the desert I see porno mags." Nick's not ruffled by it anymore, but he can't help but rile up his boy, "It's probably just trash, blown in from the street." "Nobody throws away porn! It's like a family heirloom...." But since Nicky's on the trail, he lets Greg ramble until he finds the torch site, calling him over. *sigh* They are just so pretty together. This just has to happen more often. Really.
Oh and did anyone notice that when Nick was telling Cath and Gil about the atv tires, he was walking really funny? Something tells me Sara went back to the lab ahead of our two favorite boys. And evidence of a fire wasn't all they collected. ;)
Next week looks wicked. I have no ill will towards the GSR people but.. it seriously makes my heart patter to see Gil calling out to Heather. The case looks intriguing too, a mention of genetic modification and Lady Heather's daughter. Neat-o.
